My computer all of a sudden stoped playing avi movies.I formated the disk but now it only plays the sound.Any idea?Please help......

OHH THE HUMANITY! What emergency? Try reinstalling your video software. I cannot believe you reformatted for avi files! Go to download.com and get a different player, there are many things you can do rather than reformat, sounds like you have been taking advice from hardware_guy!
