On the cheaper side, the dove intensive moisturisers in the pots are fantastic value.
If your hair is really damaged then go for the biggie..... Wella System Professional Power Mask. Its around £12 a pop, but should last you ages. To make it go further use a small amount and rub your hands together really quick and the amount seems to double.
Go to www.systemprofessional.co.uk
Whatever conditioner you use, after shampooing, towel-dry your hair, put the conditioner through the lengths and ends only, comb through, and wrap your head in a warm towel.
For thicker or badly damaged hair you can get away with leaving it on overnight, or use the conditioner as you would a leave in.
Remember this one tip..... the thicker the conditioner, the more intensive it is

10 steps to manage a bad hair day!
1. Reach for hand cream. A dab smoothed over hair turns frizz into shine.
2. Try a twist. If your hair is shoulder-length or longer, pull it back toward the nape of your neck and twist upward. Secure with a clip or barrette.
3. Carry extra pins when you wear an updo. If your style begins to fall, extra hair pins will add more support and hold.
4. Turn a scarf into a headband. Even the flattest or fuzziest hair looks chic when swept back with a scarf.
5. Apply gel to dry hair. When you need to spot-hold a tendril in place or keep flyaways from escaping a ponytail, dab gel right onto dry strands.
6. Massage for volume. If your short cut has fallen flat, use your fingers to massage the roots. This works a bit like teasing hair, adding lift.
7. Skip a wash. If you must have a good hair day -- for a date, job interview, special occasion -- shampoo the day before. Too-clean hair is more prone to disaster!
8. Indulge in a blowout. Most budget hair chains offer blowouts for under $30. Getting styled by a pro is the perfect antidote to a seemingly impossible hair day.
9. Go for shine. Somehow, shiny hair always looks better -- even if the style you're sporting isn't what you were going for. Smooth glossing serum over dry hair to boost its gleam (but use sparingly!).
10. Add a part. A deep side part gives hair a touch of sophistication even when it's misbehaving. Hold in place with a spritz of hairspray.

I have always had thick, dry hair...especially when I was younger and used to swim a lot. I used Infusium 23. I never really used the shampoo but I used to put the leave-in conditioner in before swimming and it helped my hair from getting so dry from the chlorine.

I suffered from very dry hair due to a bad perm, and I use conditioner made by graham webb. They sell it at salons. I also like biolage conditioner for dry, overstressed hair. What I did was put conditioner in my hair at night every weekend, and then wash it out in the morning. So it was in my hair for about 9 hours. It worked for me, and my hair was bad. Good luck.

I've used the same shampoo and conditioner for over 2 years now because it is soooo good. Before I've tried several ones and none of them impressed me so much to use them for over a long period of time. I have very long hair and it is really nice and shiny. So here is the name of the product I use: Brilliant Brunette by John Frieda. They do shampoos and conditioners for dark brown to black hair and light brown to chesnut brown (reddish brown). They also do products for blondes and redheads .

i use head & shoulders soft & silky - it wrks 4 me or try a deep conditioning treatment - dove do a good 1 or try henna wax - it wont colour ur hair & leaves its soft without frizz!simply wash ur hair (try a shampoo that removes buildup) then apply the henna from root 2 tip, comb thru using a wide - tooth comb then pop on a shower cap.i tend 2 leave mine on 4 1/2 hr plus, then rinse using clean water - use a final cold rinse towel dry use a heat protection product & blowdry.on that point, invest in an ionic hairdryer - mine is vidal sasoon pro-elite & its fantastic - leaves my hair smooth & shiny
