Five-year-olds are big enough to help with some household chores; it's a great way to keep them busy and start teaching them to be independent. Get her involved in sorting laundry or vacuuming carpets or making cookies. After she gets some work done, she'll be happy to sit down for awhile with coloring books and crayons. Good luck.

put all the kitchen chairs backs towards each other and make a tent, find her a big box, make a cave out of the couch cushions, make those paper pirate hats like in first grade, buy some water colors @ the dollar store, give her some simple chores for allowance and take her to the 1$ store (if u have one) buy coloring books, get a learning video game, childrens puzzle books, you can buy kits to make a bird house @ hobby stores then she could feed them every day, you can make feeders out of 2 liter pop bottles, go to a pawn shop and find some childrens movies for 2-4 dollars---....all i got hope it helps, brings back some memories too thanks!

Maybe she needs a friend her own age to play with sometimes.
Checkers is an old game, but she might like that. You could get her some type of learning video game system (ie Leapfrog)

she just wants ur attention. not really to play or anything but just your full attention. My daughter does this all the time, it's hard because i have 4 kids. so i just have to make special time for each one seperate. there are a lot of thing u can do. read books, color, draw, board games, sports, park, dress up, barbies, video games, computer games, hide-n-seek, crafts, go through old pictures, etc... hope it helps.
