Wrong ! In the United States - including its urban, suburban and rural belts - it is now very much the 'in' thing with young women, to remain a virgin until marriage.
And whoever told you that rural India was 'old fashioned' ? That is the belt in which far too many young girls lose their virginity, either willingly or unwillingly. Only, the 'loss' is immediately hushed up - due their parents' fear of 'losing face' !

No- it is not out of fashion, it just isn't common. In many (obviously not all) cases men are encouraged by peers and others to sleep around while women are labeled terrible things if they do the same.
Abstinence is the only way to ensure there will be no complications with pregnancy, STDs and heartbreak.
The "try before you buy" theory makes no sense to me- because if you wait, you'll have the rest of your life to perfect it!!

Out of fashion? I don't believe that the way you live your life and make decisions should be decided by whether or not something is cool at the time. If you want to wait until you area married, then thank God someone actually is.

in a country like India men maintain double standards...here virginity is a bigger seal of trust than a girls nature, virginity wasnt ever about fashion its about love....if u love someone u dont care about being virgin yeah but in India its more about getting married to the guy whom lost ur virginity with... India isnt out of fashion its hipocritic...and in other countries women are given liberty to choose their own man...

It's not a question of fashion. But I don't see the point in waiting to get married to lose one's virginity. I mean, you only live once. I'm not saying that you should sleep with everybody. But having sex with one's boyfriend (or gf) really is normal, natural, and pleasurable. Why wouldn't I share that with my bf? It adds something to the relationship (well, for me it does now).

how do you get a girl to give up sex?
marry her!

There is a very big difference between what people say they do, if the rates of teen pregnancy and single motherhood have not significantly changed in 300 years that people have been bothering to keep this kind of a record then it seems safe to say that morality in sex has not had any revolutionary change either, no matter what the priests say, and I will not make any comments on the sexual practices of the priests that they have been in court for so often in the past thirty years.

Being a virgin until marriage is not a "fashion", its a personal choice you should only make to suit yourself and your beliefs. I commend people who feel strongly about this choice and wish we would hear about it more in our "sex orientated" society, and without sensastionalizing it as something out of the ordinary. Many more people probally make this choice than we hear about, and that is ok too, it is a special and private choice to make as well.

Not exactly but most people would say it wasnt cool because you have to have sex in order to fit in with the IN crowd but it is more mature to stay a virgin I think but yet i am not but if you still are then you might want to keep it tht way if you want to be smarter than the average joe

To say something like that is out of fashion is retarded. Everyone has a right to their own sexuality. I believe that you might be better off with some experience, but if you want to wait do it. It's you life and your body.
