What has his looks got to do with it? You do what your think is right for you, if your family have a problem with him just say:
You don;t have to wake up next to him for the rest of your life I do and I love the face"

me going through the very same problem rite now... but wat the hell i am adamant and i wont change my decision for my parents. My parents are being so mean to him and his family. They say he looks bad, he is unacceptable in terms of caste( we both belong to the same religion) his economic back ground.
I feel some parents are just looking for reasons to object and think their daughters are not capable of making decisions they fail to look at how good a human being the guy is, how well he will take care of their daughter. Its not his face that will feed you and your kids nor is his face going to last forever. Looks will fade away but not the heart and his feelings for you.
Trust your instincts and if you have no doubt of your choice go ahead with him. Have a great long prosperous married life!!!!!!!!!!

That seems rather shallow of your family.
Do they not see how happy he makes you?
Do they not see how nicely he treats you?
Or, are you too uptight when the two of you are around your parents that all they see if you being very nervous when you're around him. If that's the case, you need to relax.
There is a beauty that shines from inside somebody who is happily in love - and if you're all uptight, they'll never get to see that.
Try talking to your parents. If their real hang-up is that he does not meet their standard of handsome, then they are being shallow. Explain to them how deeply you two care about each other and that you'd really like for them to get to know how wonderful of a person he really is.

This world really is too short, if he makes you happy stick with him it will pay off in the end.All good looks get you is that other people are thinking he is good looking too.Could cause some problems.Happiness is the key.

Your parents should be ashamed of themselves...what the hell does looks have to do with anything?! Please, he could be good looking and beating your ***...then what?! As long as he treats you appropriately and is respectful towards them...then they shouldn't have any problems.
You should be with your boyfriend for as long as you want! Do not let your parents ignorance ruin it for you...it's obvious they have their own personal demons to deal with!

Simple and only solution is run away with him and marry him everyone will agree to both of you. I did the same thing and now me n my hubby staying with my mum-dad.

no disrespect but fu*k your parents, it is you who is gonna be seen with him, so why do they feel ashamed, Girl if you love him continue seeing him, if your perants still go on, tell them or they exept him or you'll run away with him.......
