I live in NS and its gorgous! It depends on what you are interested in but the road from Amherst(near New Brunswick border) around Joggins(fossil cliffs) to Advocate(fishing village)Port Greville(Age of Sail Museum) to Parrsboro(Geological museum) is a nice day trip and great coastline and hiking trails. Springhill has the Anne Murray Center and a Miners Museum. The South Shore has warmer waters and beaches. Cape Breton is pretty but very curvy, hilly roads Fort Louisberg is amazing Baddeck has the Alexander Graham Bell museum. Then there is Halifax, typical city, malls, casino museums etc. Lots of fishing and historical villages down the shore to Digby(Ferry to NB) and the Annapolis Valley is beautiful ful of quaint villages and museums. The people are friendly and their are lots of Bed and Breakfasts, Campgrounds and Motels. Take the scenic routes not the major highways or you'll miss everything. The province is much bigger then it seems so don't rush or you'll miss alot. Don't forget bug spray and sunscreen. Enjoy! If you make it to the Age of Sail Museum ask for the Manager

Make sure you bring clothing for all possibilities! Although August can be gorgenous, if you get a foggy day on the Bay, for instance, you'll be glad to have good warm, dry clothes!

It's hard to get lost in NS, so don't be afraid to hit the side roads, especially along the coasts. Also, head into "Keji" and some of the other Provincial parks to enjoy the woods. And if the weather looks good, the Cabot Trail is hard to beat!
