There is proof that the Earth has flooded several times. However, while there is no proof of a flood that covered the whole world, I can see such a story beginning because a small group *thought* that such a thing had occured. It's easy to say that something was worldwide through your own vantage point when you only see a small portion of the world. I can understand that such a story might have arisen from a man, his wife and children/children-in-law getting into a large boat he had made with their family pets when the waters began to rise. Also, they could have been traveling somewhere and a tsunami or some such occured, a very large one, and drowned the area they were in a for a while. The story was simply embellished.

Noah had two arches. One on each foot. Since humans are all created in the same basic form, it doesn't take much education to know there is an arch in each foot and Noah had two feet.

they suspend their normal logic and reasoning for religion.
it is also scientifically impossible for the gloabal sea-level to have risen to such a height to deposit noah on mt. ararat. If that much water existed in the earths water cycle, the air would be so moisture rich the whole worlds population would've suffocated.

Reasonable Christians (a contradiction in terms?) accept that much of the Old Testament is parable and analogy. "They found The Ark"? I think, unless it had Noah's licence, registration and animal inventory inside, they probably found a boat.

Noah's people laughed at him when they saw him building his arch in the desert as there were no water, but he told them wait and see.
"Forthwith he (starts) constructing the Ark: every time that the Chiefs of his People passed by him, they threw ridicule on him. He said: "If ye ridicule us now, we (in our turn) can look down on you with ridicule likewise!
"But soon will ye know who it is on whom will descend a Penalty that will cover them with shame, on whom will be unloosed a Penalty lasting." Holy Quran 11:38-39

Well educated people spell it Ark . You would be suprised what God can show you...If you know there is a God then you know all things are possible for him...So the first thing is to get a realtionship with God and let him reveal himself to you..this can be achieved by seeking him with all your heart in his word and through prayer and meditation.

What education got to do with religious belief-?, Btw, it is Ark, not Arch. I believe they found remnants of it, in arch. searches.

Because being rational does not come naturally to most people. It's a skill which has to be learned, and a lot of people never learn it.
