i think that if parents belted their kids more, i dont mean abuse, just keep them in line and then they would start respecting others

Now the situation totally change, last time kids always with parents, now all going to work less time the kids with parents or not at all, some brought up by maids, so maids they can't do much, they can only look after their needs, but the family values diminishing, most of the time the kids with their friends and influenced by them, so depend what kind of friends the kid influenced, look like most cases not very good, its the time..

....because kids were not being treated RESPECTfully in kind.
Parents always talk in a manner as if their kids are subordinate to them, but not equal to them.
Parents don't take into consideration regarding their kid's feelings.
Parents make their kids feel that they're always wrong by putting an air of being absolutely right as parents.
.... so, why should kids talk to their parents as a means of *exchanging* views? That is *communication*, which is a basis for understanding and respect.

My parents always tell me that I respect them because they are the people who gave me life and that why I respect them and they always teach us to respect them and our family as well it part of our culture. My advice to you teach them the good things for them to do not the bad thing.
I think our life is different is way different form your life back then my granddad said we are so lucky that we can do all the things he hasn't even do back in the days.
In those days if you hit your kids nobody cares but now if you give them a hit or tell them off then they go to police so they is no other options for the mum or the dad.Anyway good luck who knows what going to happen in the next tens years.

I see a lot of them dont.I think the reason why or at least one of the reasons is,the goverment is involved with family life way to much.Kids think parents cant control them cause all they have to do is scream child abuse.I told mine i will dial the number for them. But my kids have respect, their not perfect but they know.

These days? You think it was different in the past? Please, it's human nature for teens to be that way. A child's biggest influence is their friends, not their parents. You have to be invovled in your kids life or they will be a stranger trying to figure stuff out on their own with the aid of their friends.

And that's who's doing??? The parents!!!
Do you remember all those peace loving long haired drug induced hippy freaks from the 60's??? Well they are the ones who made the next generation that started the disrespect thing going. Now they are the ones who are RUNNING THE COUNTRY !!!
See what drugs do to people. Peace man...

People have been saying this for centuries. It was not true then and is not true now. The only thing that has changed in recent times is we don't beat kids as much as we used to, so they have less fear.
