I believe everything written in the bible because the bible is the word of God. I know there is no way i can prove that, but one thing i know is that if something is from God it will last, that is one major difference between words spoken by men and those spoken by God. Once men said metals can't fly, but today they are flying as airplanes, men said any car that runs above 30km per hour will disintegrate, today cars are going 10 times faster, but the word of God is different, it has endured over time. People, governments, religious sects have tried to change it, but the word of God is still the same it does not change. Jesus said even if heaven and earth were erased, my words will endure and they will come to pass, that is reassuring.

Yes.
1. Archaeology increasingly supports Scripture (no discoveries have ever contradicted Scripture).
2. The earliest manuscripts are virtually identical to the copies of the Greek, Hebrew, Aramaic that we have today.
3. Jesus rose from the dead.
4. I was an Atheist.
5. I have yet to find a contradiction.
6. When I accepted Jesus as my savior, some amazing things happened (had a peace fill the emptiness in my heart...didn't even expect that to happen). I have seen many people healed & too many lives changed because of Jesus. I have seen very specific prayers answered by the God of this book.
7. In Central America, there are some awesome miricles putting an "!" to the claims of the Bible.
8. I have experienced what the Bible calls spiritual warfare...very clearly (not often but it has clearly happened).
Did I miss your question?
**I wonder how CurlyCat knows that it is fiction? Must have never read it, or is angry at God for something that has happened.**

Yes, I do believe the Bible is inspired. It is an amazing book! It claims to have been inspired by God, and there are scores of prophecies that have already been fulfilled (Read Isaiah 53 and then read the Gospel accounts of Christ's suffering and death).
I think each person makes their own decisions in life. Just because you were raised in certain environment doesn't guarantee that you will have the same values/beliefs as your parents. People (believers and unbelievers) reject the values of their parents all the time.
Personally, I was raised in a Christian home. When I became an adult I began to question the tings I'd been taught. I studied all the major religions, all the major denominations, and atheism. I was willing to embrace whatever I discovered to be the truth. For myself, I am a Christian today because of conviction...not because it was "expected" or force fed.

Bible some say its exaggerated...because of these facts (?)
-Rain did not exist before time of Noah
-People did live upto the age more than 500
-Mary was a virgin
even hearing these facts in the bible make us wonder if the whole bible is true...but I do belive them... if the bible was purely an imagination and not true..we have the best writer than Shakespeare... but still the point is some stories can be exagerrated like we all do when we tell a story to be more interesting...but I still belive the bible has the facts that are quite accurate....

The bible is a multi translated and transliterated work.
The OT is the collected folk tales of illiterate tribesmen, as for the NT most of it was written over 100 years after Jesus died and many books were thrown out when it was codified in the 6th century.
The KJ version which most people believe is the one that Jesus read has been found to be from one of the most flawed versions of the Greek thanslations, also KJ told his scribes "Make it poetry", so a lot of it is allegory and metaphor, rather than a literal version.
I suggest the book "Misquoting Jesus"

I like the way ppl speak about BIble and specialy King James.. Its word for Word.
Can we get anymroe ridiculious then this? I understand that english speaking ppl think so high of them self that they can't even imagine that bible was written in arameic , then translated to greek and then in english. SO before all those genious ppl will say every word in bible is true they should at least read the scriptures. And ask your POPE why the hell some parts of scriptures were taken out of the bible by the Catolic Church . I can't imagine Word of GOD was taken out by some catolics priest in 397 AC but hey no need to explain religious ppl that bible is the book and comercial product.
I did not see any free bibles so far, so word of GOD is not for free
Peace. Therefore GOD exists.

Yes, I do. It all boils down to whether you take the bible as the word of God. If it is, then we better believe every word of it.
I was born an atheist, studying science and evolution. Until someone spoke to me about the bible. At first, I had no interest in it but being a scientist, I decided to find if there was anything in the bible that can prove that it is something special. And I found it.
I would like you to check it out for yourself, like what I did. Check out all the prophecies in the bible and the scientific insights that were mentioned in the bible thousands of years ahead of its time (for example the earth is round was mentioned in the bible 4000years ahead of its time). Check out the probability of every prophecy coming true and you are left with no choice but to believe that it is indeed the word of God.

The bible was written by Gods' deciples. They were mere humans and humans make mistakes. This is why there are some contradictions in it. Also one must remember that over centuries the Bible has been translated to pieces! This leaves room for some selective interpretation. So I believe in its teachings for the most part.

Nope. Can't say that I don't believe in any of it, but I'd say that at least a large chunk of it is at least metaphorical, and at the most made up for the purpose of control.
I'd say that my explanation for this is that you can't see the world by looking at it from one direction. I try to read up on as much as I can regarding existence, from philosophical, scientific, and religious directions. A combination of science and philosophy makes the most sense, religion makes the least sense. Most of it just claims to have true authority without anything to back up it's claims except "wouldn't you rather believe and be wrong, then to not believe and be wrong?" Some of the stories in religion are great philosophical works, if you take them as metaphors rather than the literal truth. Others can be documented as mostly accurate historically, by comparing them to other texts, however I've never seen any evidence that 100% supports the biblical version of events.
Over all, I'd say religion, particularly Christianity, is used mostly to control the masses. Those in power feel that individuals don't know how to use their free will productively. I feel that this is mostly just their own fear. I think people are naturally good, and don't need religion to control them.

As mere mortals that we all are, regardless of our knowledge, experience, training, scholarship or vision, we can barely scratch the depths of spirituality enough to presume that we know the right way. We cling on to teachings of the great Tutors from all walks of life the likes of which include those who are considered to be God's messengers and prophets.
The Holy Bible, not unlike many other Sacred Scriptures of other faiths, is a compendium of literary work unveiling the human experiences of over forty authors in more than 60 books, which span over three millennia, that has withstood the test of time for its veracity.
It includes the anthology of the Jewish nation whose monotheistic society is culminated through the Message delivered by the Greatest Teacher of all, Yeshua Messiah/Jesus Christ. Needless to say, His teachings are indeed the Word of God...
Peace be with you!
