Oo you confrontational thing you!
Depends on the result you wanted. By benefit if you mean learn more about stuff in general then you can't go wrong with an encyclopedia, however I am worried that after spending a year reading the bible I may have nodded off and therefore not make it as far as the encyclopedia.

Gone there and done that.

The encyclopedia puffed me up with a lot of knowledge which in a sense, a lot of it was pretty useless.

The bible, on the other hand, was much easier to read, and had a lot of teachings that was very useful for everyday life. Try just reading the Book of Proverbs (it has 31 chapters so you can do just 1 chapter in 1 day and finish it in a month) and I am sure you will understand what I mean.

Encyclopedia that contains facts about the universe the bible is about some guy who walks around doing magic tricks pretending to be the son of god to get some free stuff then dies. None of it's true so if you have to read the bible treat it like it is a fictional story book don't treat it as fact because it simply isn't.

Encyclopedia. You would learn facts that way and couldn't really misinterpret most of it. Also, the stuff you learn in an encyclopedia might actually help you in this life. If you read the Bible from cover to cover, you would probably leanr nothing much more than how contradictory it is and that this "God" fellow isn't very nice.

Both would benefit you eqaully, the bible would give you knowledge of self and consciousnes, of living a good happy life, whereas the encylopedia would give you general knowledge which is required to earn a living.

There is no correct answer to your question. You could read he Bible 1000 times and it would be useless unless you put what you read into practice. You could also read an encyclopedia 1000 times and you could gain knowledge, but not necessarily any wisdom.

ya noe, I would say the bible is the real source of wisdom. Believe me, as much as u can gain physical knowledge in this physical world, it will all die one day. But spiritual wisdom is one that would benefit u everyday in a wholesome, fruitful way. And the cool thing is that spiritual wisdom never fades. And the more u digest the spiritual diet,(the bible, i mean)the wiser u become as u walk faithfully in God's steps. Take my advice...^-^
