I beleive people have a need for a religion, it makes them feel safe and gives them a preson or place to come with their problems in life.
I do not think religions will look the same at all compared to today, but I sure of that there still will be. Religions tailored to the future if you like.
When a person comes into a total panic life or death situation and have no cloe on what to do or what is to happen and know they do not have control, they do normally say things like " please if there is a God out there, please help me" kind of thing, maybe at that particular time they survived, through another way not by Gods help, but that would still leave the person with a huge amount of personal faith in a ghigher bein than ourself, something supernatural.

It is true. In the near future, human will not even remember about religion or God. That is when the time where there is no more peace in the world as nobody cares on other human being as long as they can escape the laws.
As our Muslim's Prophet Muhammad pbh said:
"The time will come when human will not believe in God anymore. When somebody ask of God, others will says they never heard of that person or word."

I'm sure that people in Ancient Greece said the same things about us. In the distant future, Christianity and all the other major religions will be the new "mythology." I think people will always have religion. No matter how smart man gets, there'll always be some kind of story of the creation and the reason things are the way they are. There's your religion.

Humans have a spiritual side. I don't think that's going to change. It's by being sentient that we are able to notice that some things and/or beings don't have physical form. When they develop technology that anyone can control with their thoughts, then we might have out-lived religion. Then there is the religion as a social institution to consider. Who runs missions, orphanages, soup kitchens, hospices?

I believe your opinion is 100 years out of date. The latest knowlege is proving that God exists, not vice versa. The Christian faith is supported by Manuscript, Archaeological, Prophetic and Statistical Probability evidence. In the last hundred years, we have made major advances in finding earlier and earlier manuscripts, archeology has uncovered peoples and places in the Bible that were previously thought to have not existed. Prophecies have come to pass. And miracles continue to happen and are documented.

The religion(s) were started to teach men values, ethics, good living, consciousness, love, faith, hope... its a long list. if men can learn all these virtues without religion I feel there is not need for religion, and I strongly feel that religion has become passe and spirituality is the in thing.

They would have religion, the humans will never give up believing in a superior power, or dreaming...Have you seen an atheist saying "Oh my god" in a certain moment? I have, and later, they kept staying atheists...But there is something in the human matrix that tells us we are controlled by "something". Or maybe in the future they will discover what that "something" is and change their way of believing...
...hope I made myself understood...

Yes, the need to feel someone or something greater than our selves is pretty much written into our DNA. Personally I think religion is a pointless and egocentric way to determine how to live all it does is pulls people apart.

True !
But they would have created a NEW religion where 'MONEY' is the ultimate God - and happily sacrifice even their near and dear ones in the process of 'worshipping', 'appeasing', and seeking this omnipresent 'God' !
...The initial signs of the establishment of this religion are already all around us - where young persons are happily sacrificing their lives, loves, families and health, in their day-'n-night pursuit of this newest 'God' !
