This is a matter for each denomination to decide. Most require a degree in Divinity, but many will just give a written and oral exam.
Anyone can begin their own church, at least in USA. There are no education requirements for that.

It does really depend on the denomination. I'm currently training to be a priest in the Church of England, and my two year course will give me a Certificate in Theology and a Certificate in Theology and Pastoral Studies. There are other courses done by other people who are smarter and younger than me.

What church are we talking about? It depends. Most organized churches (in denominations) have qualifications (you have to go to seminary or Bible school, etc.), but independent churches can do whatever they like. They have good reason to look for academically qualified people but there are some that don't necessarily require it. I'd say they're definitely in the minority.

You'd be looking at either Theology or a Bachelor of Divinity.

and if there are, should there be? the anwser is unfortunately yes. in order to lead a flock astray effectively you do have to meet qualifications. it's akin to the university racket. in effect, college for preachers. think seminary.

yeah definately..and uve still got to have a spiritual calling..u cnt just wake up and say u want to be a pastor...not good at all
