I can't *directly* answer this question, as I luckily haven't been in that situation but how can anyone here know with such apparent authority exactly WHY this person asked the question? Yes, unfortunately, some individuals do tell lies -to themselves or others- about being raped but that doesn't mean we should automatically assume that is the case here.

Let's say the question wasn't just hypothetical: Admittedly, the use of the phrase "date rape" is potentially telling about the initial situation. However, the bottom line is that NO-ONE has the right to rape anyone (even if they're on a date with them and are aware that the person is cheating on someone else).

Forgive me for being straight forward and direct. May I ask you when you said you have been date raped by your ex when you are in a relationship and you want to know how others feel?
On the other hand you mentioned "you are just interested" in how others feel. Let me tell you, you are asking this question because you feel guilty about this sexual act which you claim is rape because you are already into any relationsjip with someone else.

for anyone whether it be date rape or just rape is purley somewhat disturbing as it affects that person for such a long time and the women who have been raped my heart goes out to them..luckily i havent and i dont wish that on any person......even child abuse its all mental torture for these people and it will be with them all through the life and any little thing will trigger it back and the horrible memories will all come back it must be awful
