Oh for pity's sake! Of course it's okay. How is declaring your pride for your nation going to offend anyone? If someone does claim to be offended, it's only because hand-wringing liberals, who are terrified of being labelled bigots, have branded anything other than fawning deference to other cultures as racism. If you constantly worry about causing offence to a self-pitying, thin-skinned minority, then you'll spend your life tip-toeing around people and never asserting yourself or stating your true feelings.
Should you apologise for being English or supporting England? Of course not. There are certain people who feel resentful because their ancestors were wronged by the Empire and want the English to hang their heads in shame for ever more, but that's just revisionist nonsense. This sort of brainless mindset would have us constantly extolling the virtues of others, while considering any pride in our own character or achievements as arrogant. Be proud. Fly your flag.

I am an American living in Geneva too! Yes, you can put the flag on your car I think, but since I have no car (I live just outside the Old Town, no need for one) I hope I am not ignorant of the laws regarding the voiture. Have you noticed all the flags hanging in peoples windows?

i'd have concept a union flag (union jack) would have been extra suitable in terms of celebrating being British. the St Georges Flag is the flag of britain on my own. As for the flag why no longer merely pin it up on the interior of your window looking out, that way they are able to't allow you to comprehend to take it down because it does not breach making plans rules.

Multi-cultural Geneva is in tune with the Nature because variety is the beauty of Nature. Why should you identify yourself with any organisation by flying its Flag? You should have your own identity and opinion and respect others and their opinion which I am sure, you will agree that it is the hallmark of a civilised life.

it depends on whether you see the flag as a proud English person or simply a football supporter, If you support football try three lions, If proud Britain try Union Jack.
