My entire religion/faith/philosophy and ethical values, I think are based on what my mother taught me a long long time ago which was :-
"You should always be kind, gentle and loving"
and append to that what my Aunt taught me :-
" It is not important what goes into your mouth. What is important is what comes out of your mouth"
And I think you have it all.

Hi M!
As a believer in Yeshua I find that I can tap into the power of His death and life by mentally placing myself in the position of being nailed to the cross with Him. This drains the power out of the forces that want me to act in a selfish way.

Thinking!
Form what we have been thinking for the last millenniums, our mind is the best consultant in our actions.
Thus, thinking is my answer.
BY following some religion, we put away our our strength and will and step on the steps told to us by others!
Thus, being in peace with myself is what makes me what I am! Now, am I happy? Difficult to claim in a world governed by religions and cults, selfish leaders (political, religious, etc.)!

I'm Wiccan. Probably the most practical practice that helps me every day is our Rede, which states, "And it harm none, do what you will." It makes me think before I take actions that might influence others, and it also helps me to think before I speak.
