I prefer to experience the full flavor of the tea, so I opt out. However, if you prefer a little sweetening, then make sure it is SUGAR. Artificial sweeteners alter the tea's taste.

P.S. Honey may also, depending on whether has clover or other ingredients.

I would not drink sweetened green tea. Neither in the first, nor in the second place. Except if I am very very hungry and nothing more than green tea. Because tanins irritate the stomach, but only stomach itself may be digested then.

Green tea has recently been shown to have no benefits. I do not like it sweet or unsweet. I watered my houseplants with what I had left.
