If you're going to use the words "attack" and "Christians" in the same sentence then I'm going to say two words to you: Fred Phelps (see source).
I don't care whether the Bible is true or not. I don't mean to spit on your religion, I try and exercise respect to all people whether they are religious or not.
The comics weren't Christian either, they were just silly.
However, I take exception to anyone who proclaims that sin is evil and we should "do unto each other..." etc. when they are just carrying the badge but not adhering to the principle. I probably notice it more in this country because many people wear their religion on their sleeve. In Britain it's not a national pastime to be a Christo-Fascist. In this country they put cute little fish logos on their huge SUV's and then drive around in them as though they are driving a tank in a warzone. I've had "Christians" speed up to me and overtake me in a very confined space simply because I wasn't going more than five miles per hour over the speed limit. There are a number of people I work with who talk badly of others in earshot. There was a car that had been abandoned in a lot near by that was leaking oil all over the place. A "Jesus Is Love" banner was hanging from the rear-view mirror...
I mean, come on, if you're the religion that abhors sin why do so many of you sin so badly? And then have the brass balls to do speak the words of Christ?
However, that's not the reason most people bash Christians (I think). The main raison d'aitre is the fact that Christo-Fascists are trying to determine the way EVERYONE lives in this country. To me, that's just so very wrong. If you don't agree with abortion then fine, don't get an abortion. If you don't think gay people should marry then stop attending their weddings! It's mostly the blatant way that Bush tries to push these ideas on a public that mostly doesn't agree with him. He dresses them up as Christian tenets and in some cases that's debatable.
Ultimately, you can't call the country "Judeo-Christian" when there are so many Buddhists, Muslims, Hindus, Jains, etc. in this country. Imagine that Bush passed a law which meant everyone had to wear Mickey Mouse ears. Some people are not too big on Disney and probably would protest. Think about it; it's a stupid example to illustrate a stupid notion.
Personally, I firmly believe that if 'God' ever existed then he either perished in shame at the acts of his creation, or he simply went elsewhere to start over because quite frankly we humans look an awful lot like a lost cause right now.

Christianity isn't "bashed on" any more than any other religion. You simply see more of it because you're 1) a christian 2) live in a society where christianity and secular humanism are likely to tussle. If you were born a buddhist in Tibet or Cambodia, I'm sure you'd whine just as much about how buddhism is persecuted, ditto if you were a Muslim born in Iraq. Christianity is a pretty paranoid religion just by it's nature: it rests on an ultimate belief that a massive war, that ultimately destroys life on earth as we know it, will be waged by worldy types (who bring in the Antichrist) against Christians in general. So it's a part of your spiritual make-up that you believe everyone's out to get you.

One: Everyone gets bashed on here. There are very few people who seem able to refrain from commenting on religions other than their own, especially if those comments demonstrate ignorance/lack of true understanding/intolerance.
Two: Those who bash, get bashed. Unfortunately, this cycle exists. If everyone would agree to just stop being cruel towards each other or answering questions in disrespectful ways or asking disrespectful questions, then maybe there could be some peace in this category and in the world. Humanity just doesn't seem capable of it, sadly enough.
Three: Bashing has nothing to do with denying "truth" in a religion other than your own; it's usually done to bolster your own religion higher than another, and it's usually a failure. Such as your last comment in this question. Definitely a failure to guilt me into admitting "Oh, yes, I'm so unhappy as a non-Christian...why didn't I think of the bible?" I'm perfectly happy as I am, thanks.

You seem to have missed some of the bible's lessons. Remember the Tower of Babel story? As soon as the people were divided by language they couldn't agree on anything. In a world divided by religion, why are surprised by this?
You think crap is only for christians? What about the crap they've dished out over the centuries? such as:
The Crusades.
The Spanish Inquisition.
The conquest of the Americas.
Witch hunts.
The Holocaust.
Galileo spending his final years under house arrest.
Pedophile priests and the bishops who spent decades covering up for them.
Pious nitwits who only want to make life difficult for gays who want to get married and women desperate to end an unplanned pregnancy, and who smugly claim this is what their god expects of them.
Sickos who show up at military funerals to inform the bereaved that god wanted their loved ones to die as penance for -- get this -- homosexuality.
(And you needn't argue "but that's not TRUE christianity, those were mistakes committed by people using christianity as just an excuse", etc etc. These things would not have happened without christians to carry them out, therefore these are all christian deeds.)
If you're gonna be a christian (and I don't recommend it), then at least don't be a hypocrite.

i come across it exciting that unbelievers are answering a question placed to Christians. How do you understand what i think of? Come on, get genuine. some Christians attack all human beings because of the fact they do no longer study and have faith each little thing this is written contained in the recent testomony of the Bible. some try this because of the fact they have not even conventional Christ as their Savior, so how can they be a "Christian?" The universal practitioner element purely factors out lack of expertise of what the Bible actually teaches. people who perform with basically partial expertise of the Bible make tragic errors with their lives, which contain allowing their infants to die particularly than enable a doctor to handle them for particularly hassle-free issues. guy would have made printing presses that produce copies of books however the unique manuscripts nevertheless validate the copies immediately. in my view, I desire a Bible that has no reproduction write on it to those which do. some thing approximately own possession of God's word rubs me the incorrect way. Or that possibly you replaced some thing and choose to maintain administration of that fluctuate. Dood: heavily, you have study the finished Bible? probable no longer. pondering technological know-how's present day recommendations related to special bang concept, rules of thermodynamics, etc., they're top there on the commencing up: Genesis a million:a million.

You must thank your luck that your faith has developed such an in-built system in you that you tend to question the authenticity of your faith by accusing Christianity by being a christian yourself. You are saved from being a fanatic unlike millions among the Muslims whose faith does not entertain any scope for dissent ion or difference of opinion. Whatever has been said to have been told by their Prophet can not be questioned. Further, there is not going to be another prophet to reform them. At least in last more than 1370 years after death of Muhammad no reformer has been tolerated among Muslims. Thank God, that you are not born to a Muslim family or converted to Islam. Be assured, you are closer to Truth by attacking the falsehood in Christianity after having lived as a christian yourself. Life is but an experimentation with the Truth, and faith is not blind belief in what other mortals have said but to live a conscious life though without a choice. This is Hindu way of living with conviction, come what may.

I agree with you, remember that this is a worldly place. Bashing takes place no matter what, even Jesus was persecuted. One day they will be face to face with God almighty, and I am quite sure they will regret many things said and done. We are not perfect, and the issue, is that as soon as we become Christians they expect perfection out of us, which is impossible. That's why our faith does not lie on people but in God, otherwise we will be letting down the entire world. Also remember that the enemy uses people to bash Christians, so in the meantime lets keep forgiving and loving.

Dude, if you're American (and I'm assuming you are), then you have no idea what "bashing Christian values" means. I challenge you to identify one single solitary way in which your freedom to practice your religion has been compromised. Sure, you're going to hear people criticize and make fun of your beliefs, but it's a free country, and freedom is a two-way street; without that freedom you wouldn't be able to practice your faith freely, either. If you want to experience Christian bashing, travel to any one of a couple of dozen countries around the world where active persecution of Christians is taking place today. In these countries you will find Christians who, despite their hardships, are more unified and stronger in their faith than you find in the U.S.

One of the main reasons that I see for people attacking Christianity is the way the media portrays us. There is rarely any good news about Christianity.. but every single pedophile priest story is covered on every station.
