how can you give up so easily?

I got alot of people telling me to just "give up". so i ask.
how are you people so able to give up?
how do you think it is so easy just to forget about someone thats so great?
how can you people think that you can just stop loving someone?

I don't think you should give up at all, because you reallycannot help the way you feel. When you have had enough you'll know. I am also in love with my best friend. But it seems the more I put up with the worst the situation gets. How am I handling this situation, I am cuurently choosing to have no contact with this person. I feel this person takes my kindness for weakness alot of the time and that is the only way I know to deal with it at times. Seems the nicer i am the worse i gettreated and I am just really tired of it. I feel I'll never not be in love with this person, I have tried to forget and it just seems to never go away. I feel I will never feel that strongly about anyone again. So right now I am choosing to just work on myself and my own life and see what happens. I hope this helps you out some what.

you asked three questions. here are the answers to those questions.

1) how are people so able to give up - they just DO IT. it's not a question of whether it's easy or not. if they love the friend enough they will just do it b/c they care about the friend more then themselves.

2)how do you think it is so easy to just forget about someone that's so great? - it's not. trust me. i been there. but i value their friendship and respect them enough to back off when they aren't into me.

3) how do people think you can just stop loving someone? - you can't right away. but time will mend that. trust me. again, i've been there.

let me tell you a story. there's a guy right? he stalks this girl. he's "in love" with her to the point of obsession. he lurks outside her house. she doesn't know he's there. she takes a walk. he grabs her, forces her into his car and rapes her. this person is MY best friend. i love her to death and i'm telling you, although you might not resort to this. LET GO. i love people and i care about you too, as you can tell by my emails. but when it's time to let go...just do it.

Show her the questions you asked on here. It shows how romantic you are and most girls would love to have a guy as sensitive, faithful and romantic as you are. If there's still no luck after doing that, then I dont think you have any choice but to move on. You cant force somebody into loving you.

Have you told her how you really feel? If you have she probably didn't understand it the way you said it.

Tell her you want to be more than friends.
