It's not actually a known fish at all. It's a genetically engineered animal called "Animal 24". Much like "Animal 48" of KFC, "Animal 24" a variant of the whitefish "Pollack", mutated by radiating the eggs of the mother and then picking the fish that have the best features for mass consumption by humans. The ensuing offspring have reached perfection, by evolving into a huge 120 lb fish that is too fat to swim straight, and must be fed corn by hand. They have poor air bladders and float erratically, but make many tasty morsels.
