Mexico is not a poor country, far from it ... they have oil, minerals, and a very healthy export situation ... what is wrong with it is that it is corrupt! Mexico could well afford to look after its citizens, but it's more convenient to send them over to the U.S. and let the Americans foot the bill! Don't forget that the 20 billion no doubt untaxed dollars these aliens send home to Mexico form a big part of their national income. Who foots the bill? You, the American taxpayer, does .... it is also not fair to compare dollar for dollar what these people earn ... a dollar goes considerably further in Mexico than it does here ... We couldn't exist on the money some greedy companies are paying the illegals, but that money buys one heck of a lot in Mexico ....

Besides a corrupt government, toilets that flush into the ocean, poor working conditions for men and women, unequal wealth distribution,Mexico has low productivity and high turnover; this means companies must have a large number of workers. Mexico also has very poor working conditions; there are substandard worker housing, child labor, pollution, and waste disposal problems. In 2002, half the population in Mexico was living in poverty and one fifth was living in extreme poverty. Remember, their poverty and our poverty are two different things! At the national level, in 2002 the rates for access to electricity, water and sanitation were 98, 90 and 80 percent, respectively.
Between 2000 and 2002, access to electricity increased from 63 to 90 percent in the population living in extreme poverty in rural areas. Access to drinking water increased from 38 to 58 percent, while access to sanitation services increased only from 22 to 26 percent. While almost 70 percent of the moderate poor have their own house, only 5 percent indicated that they were paying for their house, which is an indicator of the predominantly self-financed purchase and construction process.
If you know nothing about the situation, this is a good start. There are many good reasons to visit Mexico, especially as a tourist. It is a lovely place to visit.
If you want to get a first hand picture, take a vacation there but then go on your own little walk-about. Go into the less travelled areas, see how the locals live. It will open your eyes. To be nice, bring with you clothing for children, a few simple toys that do not require batteries, and a good dictionary. Do not dress like a show-off and do not act like you are anything special. Be kind, buy from the locals nad watch your back. I have nver had a problem myself, but I say it anyway.
I do not condemn the Americans (me too) for having mixed feelings about immigration problems, it is sad that a country so rich in recources can be so lacking in the ability to get it all together and be a leading country! Thnk about what they do have in the way of natural resources, they ought to be in a lot better shape. I call that poor management. And rich managers!!!
Have fun. Spell check is off so this is it.

Visit Mexico. You can live like a king for very cheap. But hold onto you wallet. Poverty is so extreme, you will almost certainly be robbed, one way or another. It's not violent robbery like here ...its' sneaky, snatch and run, break and enter. You can't live down there for long without it happening. I stopped going there a while ago cuz everytime I went down there was some incident that was basically petty theft.
I am concerned that those habits come with many of the folks that come up here. I know for a fact they do. Can't hire a Latin to do manual labor without losing your tools when you aren't looking. I'm not sure it's worth it not being able to trust those around you. That's what worries me. We don't need that element here in this country.

I have personally never been to Mexico...only hear rumors that it is a poor Country and cannot offer work for many. Most families go hungry because of this situation. The Government does not CARE for it's people in poverty and they come to the USA to find shelter, jobs, food and health care for themselves and their family. What I don't understand is why the USA doesn't help them with this problem as we obviously are helping other countries. Do we have to tear them down to build them up?

When you can support your family on the wages paid there, come back here and tell me what is wrong with Mexico.
It is the same thing that will be wrong with the US in a generation or two. We no longer buy products made here since they are cheaper to make elsewhere ... the deficit will catch up with us, and there will be no way to make a living with the deteriorated wages.

Mexico sucks, pretty much. It should be an incredibly rich nation, but they have the same problems they had before the Revolution, back in 1918, They have the very rich, and the poor who don't have the will to make changes, especially when they have our border to slink across and unscrupulous and unpatriotic Americans to abet them.

The economic triangle has shifted, from Europe and Mexico, to China and India. Hundreds of companies,(U.S.), have located to cheaper labor markets. This has also been occurring here in the U.S. for many years when the dot com BUBBLE BURST thousands for jobs in hi-tech were lost, and relocated overseas. There is virtually no manufacturing on U.S. Soil. The face of our economy shifts from year to year and market to market. There is no easy solution, but it affects many people in many countries. and starvation and poverty is a *****!!!

Global migrants reach 191 million
Many African migrants make dangerous journeys to Europe
Nearly 200 million people now live outside their country of origin - up by about a quarter since 1990, a United Nations report on migration says.
The report by the UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan says most migrants have gone to rich countries, and one in every five to the US.
----------------------------------------------------------
Immigrants are a fact of life now... in many parts of the world.

From the restrained expertise supplied my quality wager might be you might have in no way fairly noticeable or skilled what's had to “think” to begin with, and should you suppose a real notion creates an simpler existence, you are very a lot wrong. (Luke nine:23) “Then he went on to mention to all: “If anybody desires to come back after me, permit him disown himself and select up his torture stake day by day and comply with me constantly.”

The Mexican government does not cater to them like the U.S. does. They cannot get medical assistance, foodstamps and daycare in Mexico..... Sort of like the Americans get treated in OUR own country.
