Ctrl-Alt-Del brings up the Task Mgr.

you probably want to know how to end tasks which you cant see on the task bar or system tray, or tasks which cannot be ended by doing end task on task manager.

well such tasks are generally services running on your machine and the reason why you cant end them is because they are essential to the normal functioning of the PC.

however, if you still want to terminate those services, you need to right click on My Computer and then select Manage. From the window that pops up, select services on the left and then you will see a list of services on the right. some of them would be started and some would not. you can right click on anyone and view its properties etc etc.

in case you want to end one particular task come back with a more specific name and someone might answer it.

Ctrl + Alt + Del; find the task and click End Task... never end Explorer because that can be annoying

If you are running windows XP press ctl-alt-del to run the Task Manager. Click on the application or process to end and press the 'End Task' button.
