Something broke in the emmission control system. Take it to a competent mechanic and get it repaired. We all have to breath the air you are polluting!!! Good Luck!

Its a computer generated light and this means you need to go see what codes have been set by the computer, and go from there this is the only way, but if you disconnect the battery neg side for 3minutes it will re set the emission light but if real code is set it will come back on then something going to need replaced

Any garage can put an OBDC-II scanner on it and read the codes. That will tell you where to look for trouble.

Before doing that, make sure that your fuel filler cap is properly installed. That can turn the light on and is very easy to fix.

check the car wed scanner is only way to now what is the problem may a sensor or others accessories auto zone has a scanner to check you car and is free after you cant go to mechanic chop to fix the problem

Have the car scanned. Most likely a DPFE sensor. Very common
