Hey J, well I’ve been reading over some of u'r past?’s. I can see that you are trying to gain some order in u'r life. I can start by telling you this.... and believe me it works; there are no special tricks or gimmicks to this. This is not only subject to weight loss but relationship building with Christ also. We already know with out Jesus being 1st there is no foundation to the plans that we make or the things that we want. So start off by seeking meaning to... do whatever possible to know him to find out about him weather it be reading his word, going to church, fasting and praying to get his attention its just like if you were to meet someone you liked you do all that it is to get their attention you might say nice words you might sing them a song, you would require from someone who knows them(word of God)....well what do they(Jesus) like? So you do/give the things they want and like. So it's up to you to find out what are the things (read)..... you just don’t start a relationship you get their attention 1st. what I’m saying if you don’t understand now if u were to step to me and say "lets start a relationship" I would say” boy you don’t even know me" So what you would do; is get to know me. What would be the type of thing you would do to really get to know who I am?
In seeking to know him and developing a relationship all of your other questions will be answered. I will leave you with this one.......
Mat 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you(all your hearts desires)
and some more added
Sometimes we wonder why we struggle soooo hard we start off with a good start we have every intention to finish whatever it is but we loose momentum and power because we do things in our own strength/power instead of just asking for his help (this is what he likes; us seeking him in every way) seeking him because we can't do it or we can but he can do it better.
I will give you this example in weight loss because I struggle from time to time in this area.
You can have all the right formulas 5sets of this and 5sets of that exercise not eating this and eating that and the other. If you don’t follow what’s on paper because you don’t have the will to keep it up what’s the point like I said before we start off with the right intentions but we struggle because we left the most important person out Jesus
I really hope this helps :~)

great question. well the first step u already did, deciding u really wanna know Jesus,(this means when u go to church or read the Bible u will be happy to learn.) Step two, visit ur church this Sunday(I feel if u sit in the front u will listen to the pastor better), Step three, read the Bible(start at Genesis thats the first book in the Bible and will help u understand the creation of Earth.) Maybe rent some movies too. I loved the movies The Ten Commandments! Good Luck! God loves you!

That is wonderful that you want to find Jesus! It doesn't matter how old you are all you have to do is ask Jesus into your heart! It doesn't have to be any special fancy words just start a simple prayer.... Maybe "Dear Jesus please come into my heart. I have want to have a personal relationship with you. I know I am your child and you love me know matter what I have said or done in the past that may have disappointed you. I know that none of those things matter to you and that all I have to do is ask for forgiveness. Thank you Dear Jesus for all that you have done for me so far in my life that I have not acknowledged, I now know that everything good in life comes through You. In Jesus name I pray. Amen." You can say anything. He is not a grammar teacher or English teacher. No matter what you say He will listen and come into your heart. Congratulations on making your decision. If you would like to "talk" some more feel free to contact me at carefreepanda@yahoo.com (I hope it is legal to put my email address in here).
Have a wonderful day in Christ!

You must read the Bible and you will know God's word more closely. You must have a personal prayer life in which you interact with Jesus and are close to him daily. Find a quiet place and set aside a little time each day. Don't worry if you are not actively praying all the time; a lot of it will be meditation and listening for God speaking to you through your heart. Go to church and/or a Bible study group where you feel comfortable and welcomed. If you start at one you don't feel comfortable with, find a different one. I have found that the things that help me most are reading a study Bible called the Quest Study Bible and listening to Christian radio on my way to and from work. You could go to a Christian book store and look through all the different versions of the Bible and find one you like. There are lots that contain different notes to help you understand them. You are taking wonderful steps in your journey! Congratulations! I will be praying for you.

After 21 answers, you probably wont take much time to read this one...but the answer isnt all that easy. Anything that takes a lot of effort is usually disregarded and most people look for the easy way. For Instance, however, suppose you were serious about wanting to be a better Christian. Then in St. Luke, he says, JESUS gives examples to his disciples, that WHOEVER he be, yes thats you, to sell all your goods and give the proceeds to the poor, and follow Him. Since Jesus was serious about who was going to enter the Kingdom, he also recommend, through Matthew, 19,,,that men should neuter themselves for the Kingdom. Tough act to follow of course, and its not for every Christian. In fact, while it distinctly contradicts the Original Source Text, or TORAH, in which GOD forbids self body mutilation,,,you have a choice, to obey GOD, or obey Jesus. OF course, if you think Jesus is God, then you have a very difficult problem,,,as for the life of me, I cant see GOD contradicting Himself. WHich is it,,,OT or NT that is the real Word of GOD?
Tough one Jason.... Personally, I finally had to reject the NT and all the contradictions which the NT has plenty thereof. I go with obeying GOD, and have since then, found the Shalom which GOD promised to those that Return to HIM. Blessing Fella...

Jason, Jesus loves you just as you are, and when we are yet missing the mark in our lives He died for us, past, present and future. He came from a place where there is no time. When you do ask Him into your life like Linda says to do, there will be no one that can pluck you from His hand. And you will be sealed by the Holy Ghost, receive Him too...by asking. These three things will keep us strong spiritually...God's Word, Fellowship, prayer. Just like going to school, the supermarket and the doctor and having fellowship with people keep us physically and mentally strong.

I'm not sure what to tell you. I just don't know how one can have a relationship with a middle eastern man who died two millennia ago. It's like having a relationship with Napoleon or something. I think someone came up with this "relationship" idea and it caught on, and now all the Christians are doing it and don't know why. But of course if such behavior is of value to people then they should do it by all means.

Ok, talking to Him is the main thing. I noticed, and don't think I'm making fun of you... I actually like this... you mispelled relationship, but what you did is important. You spelled "Real- tionship" That is the very thing I would tell you. Get real with Him. He knows the thoughts, and intents of our hearts anyway, so the only one we are lying to is ourself.
Yes, studying His word is important, you need to know about forgiveness, grace, and growing up in Him. So is having a youth pastor or someone you can rely on to give you the truth. Always judge what anyone says by the word of God though. There are lots of well meaning people that are misled. And there are lots that know just enough of the word of God to twist it up and lead you wrong.
But getting real and talking to Him just like you would to anyone else are my main two things. When you crave His presence like a kid craves candy... You will get His attention. Definitely get the "real-tionship."
Can I use that word later? I like it.

LindaE was right. That is exactly how to start. A relationship really is what it is. People don't always understand that until they have experienced it. I have a relationship, I talk to him about everything and he speaks to my heart and shows me new things when I read his word. He is my best friend and he wants to be yours too. GOD BLESS
