You can get it from somewhere online for free, but it won't be a legal copy. So, if you need to:
1. print word documents, goto M$home and download WordViewer. It's a free program that will allow you to read &/or print word files;
2. create or edit word documents, you can also download Open Office from Sun which is also free to use. It looks and feels pretty much the same as M$'s.

yes. microsoft's newest beta is available to download for free at http://www.microsoft.com/office/preview/beta/getthebeta.mspx . it's not a good office program, they changed the interface, and it stinks, but it's word.
if youre intrested in openoffice, go to http://openoffice.org, and abiword, a teeny winsy compact version look alike of word at http://www.abisource.com/
