So is it safe to say there are some people, namely those who misuse God's name, that he honestly wants to hurt?

It clearly says in the Gospels that he made a whip out of cord. Now why would he make a whip if he weren't whuppin' some bankers ****?

He didnt beat them up, but he did kick them out of the temple and throw their stuff around.

They were selling birds & animals at the temple. Jesus was hot/zealous over His Father's House, that It was suppose to be a House of Prayer, that the people could freely go to without having to purchase some doves, etc.. This zeal for His Father's House was written about in old testament. John 2:17.

People get hurt all the time & it's God allowing it to get their attention. People get hurt from consequences of sin & that is how we learn. Once I yelled at God (during a break down) fist in the air. Consequence was the worst feeling witch spirit ever that never left me until I found a church where the pastor prayed for me & that thing left me for good. I'm still going to same church. I know the same thing would happen again if I made the same mistake.

I'd rather think that I'd be happy knowing that God in the flesh took the time to fashion a whip and chastise me with it. It sure beats being banished from Him forever. Looks like more an act of love then wanting to just hurt someone for revenge. Nothing wrong with righteous indignation.
Ever roll up a newspaper while your pet was watching? Did you actually him them with it?

The money changers were there to sell "holy money" for tithing and such. At that time in history, only money that had been blessed could be used for those purposes. The 'blessed money' was then sold at a higher price than face value. That is what the money changers did. Jesus did not approve of this practice as it amounted to stealing money from God.

I don't think that he actually hurt the money changers and merchants that were inside the temple. He just had gotten mad and overturned tables and pretty much destroyed what they were selling. He was mad because they were using gods place or temple as a market place.
I don't think that God honestly wants to hurt people, he is vary forgiving. But what am I to say about what God wants to do?

The money changers weren't bonifide vendors in the temple. Only certain services were allowed to be sold in the Temple, the thieving money changers weren't among them.

He used the whip to knock their wares off the tables, not on them. Jesus would never hit anyone.

I would not say that he beat them up...rather messed up what they were doing; probably threw their game tables out into the street and yelled at them. I cannot say God wants to hurt anybody. I don't think he does.

LOL reading the answers from christians -- the same people who insist that the bible is the word of god also feel free to pick-and-choose which parts of it they like and what they want it to mean!
