In the question you pose you question the prejudices of others without looking at your own prejudice. You refer to white people as being selfish. There are millions of white people in this country. Obviously some are selfish and others are not. It is as hypocritical of you to stereotype ALL white people as it is for SOME white people to stereotype ALL Latinos. When you are referring to large groups terms like ALL and NONE are dangerous.
Your actual argument is that all immigration should be open (if I read your question right). I do not have a problem with legal immigration. Illegal immigration is a problem for this country. It costs billions of dollars that could be spent improving the lives of its citizens (including the lives of legal immigrants) and poses a very real security threat. I can respect that life in Mexico may be difficult but I don't feel the best way to handle that situation, as an American, is to open the borders to everyone. If the borders are completely open the same problems that drive everyone to want to leave will be present in America. Where will we all go then? The solution is to fix the problems so that people don't need to immigrate to have a good life.

Dar is right.
Crow is crazy
The prove is in what the results are-Illegals is the issue not immigrants are you new to the board?
Crime had come to a all time high this includes many crimes-Drugs (much caught by people crossing over border) a big problem. Our State system are hurting and it is getting worst . A better life for newbies is hurting the oldies. Poor is poor where ever you live-ask the poor here. Many people do know-we have slums. And Mexico is not all slums neither. And not the very poor are coming over-get real. Selfish goes both ways.

I am in full support of immigration but to come here illegally and then to demand rights is wrong. They have committed a crime to come here and as a result they should pay the penalty for that crime. Does anyone not remember when a few years back some Haitians came here and were sent back and they were accused of bringing AIDS with them. With all of the illegals from Mexico, there has been a dramatic increase in childhood diseases and tuberculosis because their healthcare in Mexico is non-existent. It is not discrimination to suggest that they be sent back, it is our current laws. Had they been followed, this would not even be an issue. And lets not forget that we have illegal immigrants from many other countries. Do they get a free pass as well?

I am not against immigration if it is done LEGALLY!!! If the Mexican citizens are having such are hard life in
Mexico than something needs to be done in that GOVT!!! Why does the US GOVT need to get involved except to protect this countries border??!! If the American citizen, notice I wrote American citizen not us white folks, wanted a better life for our families and fled to Mexico and overrun their borders DON'T YOU THINK THE MEXICAN GOVT WOULD BE DOING SOMETHING TO PREVENT OUR INVASION????
To LUCY, the Mexican govt needs to do something about the poverty level in their country,NOT THE U.S.!! We have poverty here!!! And those, most of the illegals that are paying taxes are still diong it ILLEGALLY!!!!
To comment on JGMAFB's comment, the Europeans came here before there was laws on Illegal immigration. HELLO the laws of this country have drastically changed since then!!!And YES it was not right what happened to Indians and the slaves. But we are living in the NOW!!! This is not and should not be a racists issue.I believe if you want to immigrate do it legally like so many others and start paying taxes and support AMERICA!

Mexico is NOT a poor country. It has the fifth richest economy in the world, and by sending its teeming masses to our country, that status keeps on rising. Mexico has more resources per square mile than the U.S. and plenty of money to take care of its own people. Why should the taxpayers of this country subsidize Mexico's corruption?
they want a better life maybe, but what about all the other people who want to come here but cant cross a border? does that mean we should send them a boat ? when will you say enough when it effects you and your job, your home , your ss number ?and if everyone continues to ignore the real problem corruption in mexico it wont stop more and more will come it will be a future problem until we say no more and force mexico to step up i think mexico should be brought up on charges for doing this to their own people and us !

Their life here is not much better if they are not legal. I live in Florida and I hardly see any that are driving cars. Usually riding bikes and live in trashy trailers outside of the strawberry fields. How is it better for them here. If mexico is so bad, why do we go there and spend money on prescriptions and vacations? All they need to do is come in our country and do it legally. It's not discrimination.....why do we have to be the country that let's everyone just do as they please. I know there are hard-working people out there that are illegal but, why is it so hard to get legal? Besides......there are enough lazy white, black, asian and any other color that are doing nothing but collecting welfare...put them to work in the jobs that nobody wants. Or criminals.

My opinion is that your are a complete moron. How are you going to get anyone o take you seriously, when you are an obvious racist? You don't like white people, because you singled them out in there. Even if that weren't the case, you have no ability to spell, or form a coherent sentence....
I know why they come, but to be honest I am sick of hearing it. We have every right to decide who comes into this country and who does not, and not just white people, ALL legal citizens do. You are just an idiot, and I have wasted to much time already....

People do not realize that there are not many ways to come to USA legally. For example if you have brother who is USA citizen it would take 15 years to get green card for his sister.Or you have a work sponsor that would take up to 6 years to get green card.
We need something like Italy or other country. You want to work - no problem . You'll get temporary work permit and you can work and support your family and come back to your country.
Children in Mexico wants to eat everyday - today and tomorrow and can not wait that long. Don't blame poor people who are risking their life just for chance to feed their family. There are not many legal ways to come to America. And many of you probably do not know that many illegals are paying taxes.

After reading many of your posts, I've come to the conclusion that you are a very angry, self-righteous person and even though you ask at the end of your post, "What's your opinion?" I don't feel that you really want to hear anyone's opinion unless they are in total agreement with you. Well, I don't agree with anything you have said on here so far and so I am sure you don't want to hear my opinion, so I won't elaborate here. Take care and try to calm down some, eh?

My opinion is that they should do it legally and that their better life is at the expense of our children's education. We want a better life for them, too. It is not fair for them to come here above the amount invited and make us pay for their children's education and other services. It is reducing the quality and availability of education and services for our own people.
It is not discrimination to say 'no, you can't have that, it's ours.'
