If you choose to ship her, airlines have restrictions during the summer for shipping animals. From May 15-Sept 15, animals can not be shipped as cargo if the temperature at origin or destination are over 70 degrees for snub nosed dogs (a pit bull falls into the snub nosed category) and 85 degrees for all other dogs. Contact an airlines cargo department for more information. Below I have posted Delta and they can inform you on prices and restrictions. If you ship the dog as Cargo, you do not have to fly with her. Contact your local kennel or a breeder to see how they ship animals and they can give you advise.

Be careful, sometimes it gets very cold for the animals and they don't do so well on the flights...some have even died due to the cold temps up so high. Ask the airline before you send your dog up there.
