Sin is doing something against God's purpose whether it's an accident or not.
The sin that turned Gods face away from His people & He grieved at, because He had not purposed this: When His people sacrificed innocent children to devils. This is the worst. I think this is the reason Jesus became the sacrifice, the Lamb of God. He had to bear even the worst sin. God the Father turned away from our sin on Jesus. Jesus died on the cross. Because He was sinless, death could not keep Him in the Grave & He rose from the dead. His blood can cleanse even the worst sinner.
To God, if you break one commandment, you're a sinner. All have sinned and come short of God's glory. Not one is righteous 24/7. Some sin less. Some sin more.
Jesus is very protective of His Children & if any should offend any one of these, it would be better if they were lassoed and thrown into the sea. Also, Judas Iscariot, Jesus said that it would have been better if He had not been born. He warned hypocrites also.
The sin with immediate consequences is blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. It's not just forgiven ever. That is just calling the fruit of the Holy Spirit from Satan. People do it all the time. To be guilty of it one Has to see Spiritually. The sin that the Holy Spirit convicts person's heart of first is; rejecting God's plan of salvation, that God sent His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him will have everlasting life.
The wages of sin is death. The free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus the Lord.

I think most say we're all sinners and no one sinner is better then another, but I personally believe that the sin of lets say lust is not as bad as the sin of murder. Sin means missing the mark from what I'm told and I know that I have done that, but calling myself a sinner is hard for me, because that word has taken on a very negative meaning. I do believe no one is perfect, but innately sinful I do not.

I suppose it depends on the sin itself. Lying is supposed to be a sin, but if you lie to protect someone's feelings by not telling the whole truth then is it really a lie or are you being kind? Now murdering is one of those things where you know you did something wrong, but will you admit why? I'm getting tired....2323 in the Mighty Badger State...time for all good little furry mammals to be off to bed....what was the question again?

Sins vary in their seriousness... it depends on the consequences of the action... If you steal $100.00 from a millionaire that action may not have great consequences to that person... but if you steal $100.00 from a very poor person, that may be the only money that person has and then they are left destitute... that is a grave sin... as the consequences are very serious...
Sins vary in commission... The one thing that Jesus taught that was new to the Jews in his day... was to consider the INTENTIONS and MOTIVES of one's actions as the sin... not just COMMITTING the ACTION... This disturbed the Jews... they did not want that extra burden put upon them in their daily lives to be the measure of their righteousness. Just as today, people do not want to be responsible for what comes out of their mouth... or for their thoughts or trying to live by higher standards of behavior... it is too much work... it is too difficult... and takes too much effort... and it is not "cool."
But the whole purpose of life is to leave life a better person than we were when we came into the world... and that means to improve yourself every day... and that dosn't seem to be popular with the people on this internet site... judging by the language I read... and the intentions that some people pose questions... to cause irritations, trouble and negative results...
Each ONE of your actions will be judged by God... weather you believe in Him or not... He is there and you will be accountable. Instead of dwelling on the topic of SIN... why don't you start trying to learn about VIRTUES... RIGHTEOUSNESS... subjects that are positive instead of negative... Put some positive "juice" into your mind... and maybe you will find it contageous.

That would depend on what your interpretation of a sin is... I mean.. if a person does not know the difference between right and wrong then their interpretation of a 'sin' would not be correct, and like, what is right and what is wrong? Does one right correct a thousand wrongs? Does one wrong ruin a thousand rights? Its' all soooo confusing, if you ask me...
BUT.. which nulifies the aforementioned....
'any one who calls another a sinner.. IS a sinner themselves for they are judging and well, you know the saying.. Judge not lest ye be judged....
*ahem*
Cast not ye, the first stone, as you'll be seen throwing it, and it might come flying back at you.

Some sins are worst and some are bad.
every sin has a different level of measurement and accordingly different level of punishment.
For instance:
Blasphemy is the worst among worst sins
other worst sins are:
Adultry, rape, killing, false blaming, drinking wine, etc

It's not that one sin is greater or lesser than another in that one is worth more "points" than another. Sin is an existential state, and individual sins can serve to deepen that state in greater or lesser degrees.
