i was aprehensive about placing my son in preschool, but he is learning great social skills, he shares toys, sings and talks a lot clearer. we are thinking of having another child and preschool has helped realise that he is the only child in the world. they also teach him alot of things that i can't. as well providing a couple of hours 'mum' time so i can clean, shop and just be a person:)

Preschool is optional but it will help your child to make an easier transitition into kindergarten. Besides the social interaction with the other children, preschool will help your child get a head start on things like colors, counting, letters, writing and etc. I have put my kids through preschool and they have done much better then friends who opted not to do the preschool thing.

previously, preschool was an option. it was a good activity for children of working parents or for those parents who wanted to give their children an educational boost. but now... it is in my opinion, necessary for the development of any child.
because children are expected to know so much so quickly, they need to find a way to be prepared. there's an entrance exam to evaluate their readiness. if for no other reason than to allow the child to maintain their self confidence I believe it is necessary to enroll them in an academically solid preschool so that their first years of school are positive ones. the first years are the ones in which the child will develop their entire attitude toward education that they will carry with them for the remainder of their lives.

Also its a place where your child learns to socialize and learns many essential etiquette's of behavior. They learn academically as well as socially. But of course you can give enough to time to your child at home and the child have ample of opportunities at home to socialize and play with other children of his own age then I think is not really very essential to the child to go to play school.

it doesn't matter if children go or not you've just got to let them PLAY!!! it is best for them to gain social skills though as this is also important as is their over all self esteem and well being
