Why are we as Americans so prejudice, including myself, and take everything for granted? I throw away food?

good portions, while children are dying of hunger, I see other people that are not like me and I'm quick to judge them, my parents didnt teach me to be this way, is it just the American way, that we feel and think we are superior than everyone else? how can we change this and be humble?

Everyone throws away food. Don't feel guilty. It isn't like you can box up your leftovers and mail it to Ethiopia where all the children are starving. Just get smaller portions so you don't feel so bad. Don't buy so much and send the rest of what you would have spent to meals on wheels for the shut ins.
I don't think we all feel we are superior... I think we just don't give a dang.

Because we think we're the most perfect people on the earth. In fact, we're just like everyone else when you come to think about it. Problem is that Americans just don't like things that aren't "American". Kind of a dumb attitude, if you ask me.

We take things for granted because we're just plain spoiled.

The only way we can change and be humble is to see ourselves as no better than anyone else; and that has to be on an individual basis because you can't legislate prejudice. So what if the person next door isn't like you? You're not like that person either. We're all different, but none of us is better than anyone else.

Because 99% of Americans are naive, they don't even realize life exists any where else other than in their living room.

Put our congressmen and senators on social security instead of the high dollar retirement program they voted themselves and we can FEED THE WORLD.
