Say this:
Mom/Dad, I have a GF and she lives in PA.
It should go over well. What are you 12?

I would suggest being plain and honest. If you try to cover or lie, you're bound for more trouble. If you think your parents are going to be upset you met someone online, there may be good reason. Have you ever met this girl in person? Do you really have any plans for a future with her? Not to be a naysayer, but if you are under 18, I would suggest you not even bother with an online relationship no matter how wonderful it seems. The chances of it working out are not very good at all, while the potential for misery is high - though I realize this is not what you want to hear.

o.k. now there is more information needed here. If you are a minor then it may be an issue, if not then no worries. If she is married then there is a big issue, if not then no need to fret. If it is a simple of case of you met her at a concert, a camp, she is a cousin of a friend then just tell them. I am sure that they will understand. If she is someone that you met on line then you need to worry. Not all individuals on line are honest and you should probably find out more. If you are thinking of leaving your parents home and you are a minor then you truly need to talk to your parents first. The old saying goes..."parents know best" and this saying holds true in most cases. Trust your instincts and also your parents judgement. Good luck!!

They probably already know. I knew about my daughter's ld boyfriend long before she told me.
But do tell them. It's not that hard and it can have benefits. My daughter got to meet her ld bf because we happened to pass through Jersey on the way to visit her grandparents in NY and so I arranged for the families to have dinner and she got to meet him in real life and I got to assure myself that he wasn't a 40 year old pervert.
Update:
Oh Gee, you're 18, then scratch it all. You're a grown man. Just tell em it's not that serious. Lots of people have LD girl/boyfriends in this age.

What is there to tell? I suppose you met her online? Have you ever met her in person? Are you sure she is a 'she'?
