First, you must assume that their is a heaven. Or, hell for that matter. Second, this is organized religion at it's best. This is where they bring you in. Heaven or hell is not the reality. The reality is having peace with yourself and truly knowing who you are.

It would seem that agnostics and atheists are smarter than believers..they get a life full of fun, then playing it safe, turn at the last moment and inherit the kingdom of heaven...doens' t that just Pi*s off a Christain? Yep, thought so. There is just no justice!

At death a person stands before God for their personal judgment and a death bed conversion will not excuse you... as you will have to be accountable for not only your actions... but more so... for your INTENTIONS... behind those actions... and you may not be liable for hell... because your sins have been forgiven... but you will have to be accountable for your intentions to delay you conversion until your die...

Remember, that Jesus said... there are many mansions in my Father's house..." That means that heaven has different levels of existence... and a life of disbelief with a death bed conversion to escape annilation of the soul... does not earn a person a very high spot in heaven... Seems that they would get the basement level of heaven ...

Jesus paid for all sins.... but we STILL have a responsibility to obtain righteousness in our lifetime also...Jesus said that we need to be born again... that means that we need to recognize our spiritual nature, not just what we see in the mirror (our physical nature) but to know our spiritual nature too and to give time and development to our spiritual nature as we do to our physical nature... Agnostic or atheist don't consider this important... so should God when a person dies...????

you appear to believe in a heaven.. so this answer is complex. I once heard one of the top evangelical preacher say, when asked whether a lifelong homosexual could go to heaven: "That is up to God. They do not have Jesus in their life, but perhaps if they have lived a righteous life outside of this one flaw, then it may be possible." (don't take this as a direct quote, it is just the gist of what he said).

The truth is, if you believe in heaven, then you believe that a person who accepts God and admits their sins will go to heaven. Muslims consider Jesus a prophet, and feel that soul belief in God will get a person into heaven. And, as the above preacher believes, one CAN go to heaven without Jesus in their life. They must have been EXTREMELY righteous, but he beleives it is possible. If a man who has God so firmly planted in his life feels this way, I must say I can somewhat agree with him.

Yes, a person can have spit on the name of God, take it back in the end, and meet us at the pearly gates.

Duh girl!! first tell me how is heaven, because by making that question you must know if there is a heaven or not right?

I didn't think so ... anyways, no one can decide for you or you can't decide for anyone. what people choose has to be accepted. I tell you why I don't believe in religion ... How many god there is in this world? supposedly only one. why are we fighting and criticizing each other for believing in different religions.
There is a war out there called "The Holy War".

No one goes anywhere after death girl .... mommy and daddy just told you bed stories because they were taught that way. you ll see.

Larry King had a number of men and a woman from various religious backgrounds - last year or a few months ago at least. A rabbi, a priest, a minister, a non-believer, and a muslim cleric (I think) and every one of them said they believe, if there is a heaven, it does not matter whether you are Christian, Jewish, Muslim, whatever, we'll all end up there. None of these people said their way is the only way.

I love reading responses to questions like this because they are all so innocently anti-Christian and sacreligious. Christians are supposed to promote the concept of God alone as the final judge and jury of mankind, yet by responding to this question - or even by asking it - all of you form judgements about what decision God will make with respect to a given scenario when determining someone's immortal fate. You're trying to predict what God will do. Don't you see that as grossly ridiculous - if any of you really believe in God as Christianity or Islam, or Judaism, or Zoroastrianism or whatever religion has defined God - in particular to be the only one to make judgements of fate - then you must agree that responding to this question is the religious equivalent of slapping God sqare in the face. Do any of you really think you can predict what God is going to decide when your time comes? Perhaps God is fickle. Perhaps you haven't lived up to his expectations. Perhaps he's very lenient. The fact is, none of really know and so none of us have the right to say.

Yes, according to the Bible, if you accept Christ as your lord and savior then you are an heir to the promise. If you follow the deffenition, I believe most people are agnostic, because really no one knows for sure if God is real until they meet him and that takes death, so we may never know and that leads to doubt, which is normal, because you dont just believe something because your told. What if I told you that I'm an perfect angel, do you believe me?

You should because its true. :)

If they have had previous opportunities to learn and accept Jesus, but refused, they will burn in hell. Think of Judas who was with Jesus, but betrayed Him to be killed.

If they had never had other opprotunities to accept Jesus until their deathbed, yes they will go to heaven. Remember the theif on the cross.

Were they seriously calling on God? He knows the thoughts and intent of the heart, if they were serious, He was.
However if you are thinking about waiting... Don't. You never know when some drunk is going to cross the line and take you out. Besides, you will miss out on knowing Him, and that would be a "crying shame." He's absolutely great. My One Thing. (That I couldn't live without.)

g1100 It doesn't tick me off. They missed out, not me. I live in the freedom and grace of knowing Him. Being in His presence is greater than any other thing on this earth. If you knew Him, you'd agree.
