Depends on what type of a gym it is if it is a national one they tend to cost more but then if you went to another city they would have one there. A local gym wants your business so you can sometime haggle their prices down best I have seen is like 1 year at like 30 bucks I think. Or you could join a women's only gym and not have to worry about guys drooling over you

I think the normal payment should be about $20-25 depending on what gym you attend. However some places like Bally's, I think it is a rip off they charge you about $39 a month for a 3 year commitment. If you cancel within that time frame, you still owe the remainder of that 3 years. Also, I would definitely go to a gym that doesn't have a long term contract. I would go to a gym that charges month to month in case you find a better deal or move out of the area etc, so you don't have to stick with that one. I currently attend a gym and pay $17 a mo and pay $25 a mo for
daycare for my 3 kids. Also, I pay month to month and can cancel at anytime. Basically just don't get a gym that has the works and have no need for it. Just find a gym that does that job:)

I pay $35 to just use the pool, or I could pay the same to use just the gym equipment, or $45 for both.
