i drove and had a job when i was 16. i needed to drive because i was on the dance team at school and i had to be at school early every day and we often had afterschool practice as well...plus football games and compititions and all the community service we did, i had a lot of places i needed to be. and, i got a job because i needed to buy gas, and i wanted a cell phone so i paid my bill, and i wanted spending money.

I drove and worked when I was 16 - as well as went to school. Drove an old school Monte Carlo and worked at a movie theater. Glad those days are behind me!

my daughter is 16 and works after school and during the summer at a daycare. But she doesn't drive yet.
