No. Formatting your system is like erasing a cassette tape .. it's gone.

Unless of course, your MS Office is installed on a different drive.

Well, consdidering the size of MS office, it isnt easily backed up with a CD. If you have an external hard drive, it is a great backup option, though buying one for this purpose is not recommended due to the price. You can always burn the data onto a DVD-RW or DVD-R as a back up file considering that your MS office is fairly small in size.

when you say "formatting my system" if that entails the hard drive then no, you cannot keep the ms office because it is also contained within the hard drive.....

Are you just wanting to save emails and projects and all? Just burn it all off to a CD or floppy before formatting.

no, you will have to reinstall it. there are many files in the windows folders, that cannot be backed up, the registry will not recognize them if you don't reinstall, you can back up files writeen in it, but no the program
