You should legally report it, and begin the adoption process, my advise is to see a lawyer he will answer your question better than anybody here. Good luck and best wishes

you could get away with it for a few years but it would catch up with you. The baby needs a SSI # which you can't get without a birth certificate . If you did it illegally they would find out eventually and you would not only loose the child but go to jail for identify theft.
When you do report it you can say that you would like to apply for temporary permanent custody/foster parent. If the system is swapped with cases and 99% of the time they are they will do a quick home visit and let you. Then while they try to find the birth mother and her family< they always prefer to give a child to family if they can> you can say if they are not found or if found found to be unfit you would like to adopt. Then it is a crap shoot if you get the child or not but you have a better chance because the child has been in your home and you can argue the baby has bonded with you and it would be cruel to separate the child again.
Finally being single has nothing to do with adoption these days so many kids need home they have lighted up on the rules

I feel you should report it then find out if you have any legal claims to the child. Do not just assume that you can just take care of the child because you do not want someone to show up looking for the child either, such as blood relatives. The best thing to do is speak to a lawyer about this issue and if you are able to keep the child then it would be a good idea to become the parent legally.

report it, and try to be the first to have a chance to adopt the baby, sorry but not a blessing from god, just some awful person who couldn,t do the proper thing for her baby. Tons of luck to you, or did this realy happen.

Report it. if you plea a good case, the courts will give you full custody of the baby, because you were a care giver and the biological parent(s) left the baby in your care. Talk to a lawyer ASAP

You should report it. Someone may be looking for it, or it may be abandoned. Either way, if the parents abandonded it you can legally adopt the baby.

I think you should report it, because someone could have kidnapped the baby and later decided not to keep it. So you should be safe first before you decide to keep it.
