why does my 4 and a half month old miniture schnauzer puppy like to eat grass? is this ok?

everytime we let him outtside he starts to eat the grass. is he not getting enough of what he needs in his food?

Dogs eat grass sometimes because they have an upset stomach and it makes them throw up. Another reason is there is viamins in the grass they need. My dog and both cats do it. It:s normal!

this does two things, first it's a digestive aid second it's got a way of settling the stomach. Don't worry it's fine, our dog used to eat a lot of grass too, so much we started calling her cow. Grass won't hurt him and he might cough sometimes but that's just because it's itchy in the throat.

because he is a carnivore, a mammal and you are feeding him commercial dog foods which are toxic to him. the grass he is eating is a natural food and is helping to remove the toxins from his bound up intestines from the comercial dog food that probably contains a myriad of grains especially wheat, soy, corn, and rice, none of which are digestible by mammals...infact...they are poisons for mammals, especially wheat and soy which are not digestible under any circumsstances. feed the puppy raw meat that is what he is genetically supposed to be eating

Grass had certain nutrients that dogs can smell, they use grass as medicine for what ever reason they need medicine, upset stomach, headache,etc. dont worry unless u notice he's gettin worse, take him to the vet
