I'm looking for an energy efficient recipe - one where I don't have to cook the stuff for hours upon hours. Would a pressure cooker work?

MOTHER'S FAVORITE OLD FASHIONED
TAPIOCA PUDDING

1/3 c. lg. size pearl tapioca (not instant)
2 1/4 c. milk
1/4 tsp. salt
2 eggs
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. vanilla

Soak tapioca in water for 4 to 12 hours. Add milk and salt. Heat and stir until boiling. Simmer at low heat, uncovered, for 50 minutes, stirring frequently. Add sugar gradually. Beat eggs. Mix with some of hot tapioca. Return slowly to rest of mixture. Bring to boil, stirring constantly for 3 minutes to achieve pudding consistency. Cook 15 minutes. Add vanilla.
BABY PEARL TAPIOCA PUDDING

7 c. water
1 c. tapioca
1 (3 oz.) Jello (cherry or strawberry)
1 c. sugar
1 (20 oz.) crushed pineapple, drained
1 (8 oz.) Cool Whip

Bring water to boiling, add tapioca, stir. Simmer 20 to 25 minutes. Stir once in a while. Remove from burner, add Jello and sugar, stir until dissolved. Let set to cool. When cold add pineapple and Cool Whip. Refrigerate

PEARL TAPIOCA PUDDING

6 c. boiling water
Pinch of salt
1 c. pearl small tapioca
1 pkg. strawberry Jello
1 c. sugar
1 #2 can crushed pineapple
1 (8 oz.) Cool Whip

Simmer water and tapioca 25 minutes stirring occasionally until clear. Take off stove.
Add strawberry Jello and sugar and stir well. Cool and set in refrigerator 10 or 12 hours. Add crushed pineapple juice and all 1 (8 ounce) Cool Whip. Mix well. Let set overnight.

Kicked Up Chocolate Tapioca Pudding

1/2 cup sugar
3 tablespoons quick cooking tapioca
3 cups whole milk
1 large egg, beaten
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3 ounces semisweet chocolate
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 teaspoons dark rum

In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, tapioca, milk and egg. Let stand for 5 minutes.

Add cinnamon and chocolate to saucepan and cook over medium heat until pudding comes to a full boil, stirring continually to prevent burning.

Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and rum.

Cool for 20 minutes. Stir for creamy texture.

Serve warm or chilled.

i'm a former chef and use the extra beneficial ones for an Asian drink easy as the two bubble tea or boba tea, you could prepare dinner the tapioca in a sugar water answer and use them for drinks, even placed some in a pitcher of Kool help or Lemon help for some relaxing for the little ones.
