Why are able people allowed to draw medicaid? Example--people have babies and want to be a "stay at home mom". So they use the system. Isn't that stealing from every working person. Why aren't people made to work for their insurance?

Don't play the race card--I have a few people in mind and they are not black. Go get a job!

I understand people that really need it. I am refering to people that have a husband and lie to the system to get the benefits for their pregnancy and their children. Then their husbands don't have to buy the insurance at work which affords the mother then to stay at home and have babies. I am paying with my hard earned money for them to do what I would dream of doing--staying home and having babies. But I would NEVER take others money when I can go out and get a full time JOB. I said ABLE bodied people---if you are abled body make yourself a better person and get a JOB.

Oh--and if you can't afford to have a baby--don't have them. If you know you will have to use medicare--then you shouldn't even have sex.

I think all forms of social service are abused in some way.

It is not just Medicaid that is abused. People use and abuse everyone and everything. We're human. You know what. I used Medicaid and I'm not ashamed to admit it. Do I feel I used the system? NO! There would've been no other way for me to have a healthy pregnancy and get the care that I need. Some people make too much to get certain benefits and others don't make enough to get the insurance required. I now make a living selling affordable Health Benefits. It's not that easy to get Medicaid either. You do have to prove things now. They've dramatically changed the way the system operates. So you should make sure that you have all the facts before you make such a bold statement. I will admit that there are those people that USE and ABUSE anything & everything they can. Not everyone does that and if you know someone I can understand why you're upset about the situation. I was the same way when I knew someone that did it and almost didn't take the proper steps necessary.. As far as stay-at-home mom's receiving Medicaid. They are able if they don't receive help from the babies daddy. I only made $500 a month and was still not able to receive Medicaid... Just for your information. And no, it's not just a Black thing. I could go on and on but I think I got my point across....
