The answer is 'language'. The key sentences are the second and third. If you just read those two, the answer is obvious. The first sentence is a ruse to throw you off. 'Language' is the only answer that fits the hints that follow those two sentence.

Which answer do you want? This question goes back soooo long and it changes as often as it is asked. This is a question that is asked in numerous high school and college classes to see how students think...at least that is what I've been told everytime.
You can have "language", "every", "one=agree", etc for answers. It all depends on how the question is asked.
I have never understood the fascination with this question as it makes no sense and the confusing part of the riddle isn't logical.

wtf is my mother doing in my closet? EDIT: Okay, I'll reply severely. Depending on my mom it might be NONE hence, realizing her slumbering sample. If it was once both one or the opposite I'd say my mother is downstairs calling for some thing earlier than slumbering. If it was once once more both one and we are judging from supernatural phenomenons then my mother's within the closet hiding from an evil entity. Of direction, bombarding this riddle with common sense allows for me to be much less of a scaredypants but when all else fails, the only within the closet is a BURGLAR.

there is no other common word that ends in gry. Are you looking for meagry or aggry, they are no longer in our common language, maybe the answer your are looking for was "the english language", or aka language. Great riddle.
