Psalm 51
Verses 4 says
Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in my sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.

Yes, I confess my sins to God directly. We also need to confess to the person that we have wronged by our sin.
The Bible does not say to confess your sins to each other, it says to confess your "faults" to each other. In other words, don't get specific with other people; keep it general so that the lesson learned will be a benefit to others.
Also, the Bible does not say that where two or three are gathered that all things are possible. These are different passages of scripture. It does say "For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them." (Mat 18:20) He is with those who have come together to worship Him. And, "But Jesus beheld [them], and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible." (Mat 19:26)
Psalm 51 is probably the greatest example of a prayer of confession that has been given to us.

I do confess my sins but not to anyone except to Jesus or if I have sinned against a person. In that case I confess my sin and ask for their forgivness as well.

I'm an agnostic. Yeah I guess I can confess some I don't think I can remember all of them. I'm sometimes rude to my parents which is not right, I feel like I wasn't a good sister to my brother when I was younger and I feel like I'm to selfish sometimes and think of my self to much. I've done others but those r the ones that bothering me at the moment. But I should apologize to them about it.

particular, the a million.2billion catholics ask forgiveness from Jesus, via confession. we adore confessing to the priest for over 2000 yrs and actually biblical... James 5:sixteen. might that make a distinction now basically because of the fact the anticatholics got here 500 years in the past and ranting for this reason a techniques. could desire to I end listening to the ancients father who carried the apostlic messages to us or to those new minted -johnny-got here-previous due charlatans. LOL

Sure. Although I generally have an accountability partner to share with. I confess that I harbor bitterness toward my mother-in-law. I need to forgive her for her manipulative and phony ways. I gotta have the grace of God to do that because she's a real doozy. Lord help me.

I have been selfish and self serving and through these actions caused harm. I pray for forgiveness and the ability to now do the things I should have done in the past. I am grateful to God for the chance to do better. I hope this time I am equal to his desires for me.

i think you should talk to a pastor or a chaplain. pray to God for forgiveness not man because only God can forgive. it isn't right for us to judge whether you are forgiven. talk to God the god who says don't pray aloud fall all to see, pray inside behind closed doors where no one can see or hear you and you will be rewarded in heaven. hate the sin, not the person
