Look I know 8th grade is no big deal like 12th graduation because you sing a couple of songs and most of the time there is a lot of talking so if you know that you have pass then do not go.

I cant speak for you because my eight grade graduation was 40 years ago. However, I have seen a lot of schools trying desperately to instill a sense of accomplishment in students that they have failed miserably at teaching. The only graduation celebrations that we had were high school and college!! Nowadays, its like if you just show up for class, you may not be able to read or write a cogent sentence...but by golly your gonna get a piece of paper with your name on it, declaring you done graduated from the eight grade!!!

Geez, I swear all these graduations are silly. I'm 32 years old and the only graduation I ever had was in 12th grade. All the rest are meaningless. And even high school graduation is meaningless in comparison to college graduation.
Do I regret the fact that I didn't have one. Heck no.

I have a grade 12 graduation coming up in about 2 weeks. I dont want to go at all. I think you shouldnt if you dont feel like it. Its not that its some great event that you'd miss even if its once in a lifetime.

It depends on your reason why you don't want to go. I have my 8th grade graduation coming up too, and of course I'm gonna go, but I'm not looking foward to the dance because of friendship issues :\ You should probably just go though because you might regret it.

I would still go to make my parents and teachers proud. It's an honor to be there; the ceremony is for you and for all the other students who have worked hard on graduating.

I went to my 10 year HS reunion b/c I thought I told myself I shouldn't chicken out and face my so called friends. All my old friends were just as lame and mentally unhealthy as they had been back then. I felt good b/c I knew I'd made the right decision to cut them out of my life. I would never go to another though. I say it depends do you really think it will help you emotionally to go? If not why go??

You will regret it if you dont.I decided to party and get wasted while my high school graduation was going on,and its been a constant regret of mine ever since.
If your going to throw away a once in a lifetime oppertunity like that than you better be replacing it with one shiner of a once in a lifetime oppertunty.

Why don't you want to go ? It might be fun, and if you are feeling self conscious for whatever reason, what grade 8 doesn't. Go on and have fun, and you can always leave if you don't enjoy yourself. I am just worried that you may regret it later. Good Luck and take care whatever your decision.
