Hmmm. Six-inchers are pretty common. Buy them at well-equipped hardware stores or buy from machinist supply houses like McMaster-Carr. I guess you could saw an inch off.

Id have to agree, if you need a 5 inch scale and only have a 6 inch scale Id cut off an inch.

.....or if you are interested in a drawing scale of 5 inches, it would help to know what it equals; 5" = 1', 5" = 1", 5" = 1 mile, ?????
