Hi!
I'm consdering getting a perm, i had a spiral perm a year ago, and I didnt like it, but I actually might like it now (hard to explain, lol), and am considering getting one again. What do you think about spiral perms, or just perms in general? Any advice?
Thanks!

For you I would need to know details of what type of hair you have. If you have thick, long hair, I don't think that the perm would hold very good. Why didn't you like your last perm? I would advise that if you did not like the first one you probably won't like the second one either. I sometimes look at other women's hair styles and wish I had the same, but the truth is not all styles looks good and have the same affect on everyone. Not only that but perming your hair is hard on it and you have to get one about every 3 months for the upkeep. Hope this helps. Good luck!!

Perms are great (I have natural curls), but it depends on the shape of your face. You've tried it before so maybe you can try the ordinary perm because you can have it spiral using a curling iron so that you can have more hair styles as often as you want. Just don't forget to take good care of your hair because the chemical used are harsh so maintain a hot oil or treatment to moisturize it once a week specially after a few couple of months after the perming. You have lot of style with your permed hair, you can put a clip, headband, pony tail, braid them but not all, make your own style and experiment a little.

They can be beautiful if done right. They are best on hair longer then 8 inches. If your hair is shorter, you can get that look with a candlestick wrap. Make sure you hair is in good condition and that you go to someone who knows what they are doing so they can choice the best type for your hair. Perm can be fun, but if not done right, they can be terrible. Good Luck

As far as curls go, spiral perms could not be any worse as far as fashion goes, especially now. Maybe you shoul try bigger looser curls? They look great on shoulder length or longer hair, and SO much more natural.

It's a technique that allows long (6" or more) hair to be curled. The curl formation is the spiral perm is a twisty corkscrew; the longer the hair, the longer the corkscrew effect.

well, I do this all the time. I will do something to my hair -- hate it -- and then when it's been a few years and I've gotten over it -- I do it again. It's a vicious cycle and you should fight it!
On another note: I have curly hair -- I get curly hair by putting gel in it and drying it upside down with a diffuser -- then I follow up with tresemme curl care -- scrunching the curls for more volume. My hair is definitely curly -- but if I don't do this -- it's not so curly -- Try it. It may work for you!

I personally don't like the look of perms and think they are kind of old school. I would not recommend them to anyone.
