Go find yourself some Hyland's Teething Tablets (available at any heath food store). They're homeopathic and completely natural, but best of all - they WORK!!
Try also, a 1/2 and 1/2 combination of Baby Tylenol and Children's Motrin if his discomfort gets to be too much.
Finally, those freezable teething toys are the best.

I've never had much luck with the baby oragel on any of my 3 kids when teething. Motrin or tylenol have always worked for them. If the tylenol isn't working for your baby, try some infant's motrin (ibuprofen). Something cold to bite down on often helps, but what it is depends on the child. Some like a cold washcloth, others like a frozen teething ring. Biter biscuits worked for my oldest, but I couldn't give them to my daughter because she obliterated them and broke them into big pieces and I was afraid she'd choke. I've heard some moms say that a frozen banana or an orange slice (frozen) works really well, though I've yet to try this myself. Just experiment with various things and eventually you'll find one that helps relieve your baby's pain. Fortunately, teething doesn't last forever!!

Tylenol or baby orajel otherwise theres the frozen spoon technique, frozen peas are good too also u can try rubbing the gums it might not exactly help with the pain but it will help the teeth break through faster which in turn will shorten the duration of the pain

Lots of great products out there, now.
Gel teething rings you can put in the fridge or freezer (watch for those teeth biting through and the gel oozing).
But simpler and easier is a cold damp rag in the fridge or freezer.
We tried Needa biscuits and frozen bagels, but our son would end up with big pieces in his mouth and we had to watch him for choking on them. So don't do that.

Sugarfree popsicles! Anything but those teething gels!! I have tried them on my own gums and it caused much more pain than it did help.
buy teething rings with gel in them. Put them in the freezer for a bit, be sure not to totally freeze them. If it is to cold it could make the situation worse.

Humpreys 3 they sell them at grocery stores that have a pharmacy like Nob Hill, Wal-mart, also Target carries they work really well. I give them to my 2 month old daughter along with tylenol. Maybe a teething ring from the freezer.

Let him chew on a new wooden clothespin. It helps the teeth break through the gums faster too.
This is the method my mom used on me and my sisters and we run in age from 55 to 45 years old.
They are not dangerous as their little gums cannot split the wood on the pin. Just keep it clean and replace it as needed. I have used this method with my two kids and all 5 of my Grandkids.
