#1 No.
#2 Dumb luck.

Quick, while you are of sound mind, take a good hard look at the idea of god and see it for what it is. I say quick because who knows when the next lucky break will come your way and all will be hunkey dory with god again. Use the time you have wisely and perhaps yiou will break free of the superstition and see that "god helps those that helps themselves" (meaning you help yourself, and god takes the credit) Time to roll up the shirtsleeves and do god's work (help yourself that is.)

I hope you won't be offended by my answer. I don't know if there is a God or not and quite honestly I don't care either and neither should you. Even if there was a God and he did not answer your prayers he would be right because there millions of others who need help much more than you do. Look around you my friend, childern are starving in Africa, people are being abused by Governments, women are getting raped every second, some don't have a place to sleep and you complain why your dad is away and people make fun of you ! Grow up and see the world from a different angle. Your life is at your hand and if you want anything good to happen to you, you must be the one who makes it happen instead of begging from others even God. If you want others to not make fun of you show them what quaities you have and why you are worth being a good friend. Stop praying and start getting your life at your hand ... Good Luck

Your question touched my heart. I wonder how old you are. God does indeed exists just like you. I have been through a similar situation in my life. As I got older, I realized that what I was going through was a test ... a learning experience. God never promised us "problem-free life". There are many trails and tribulations to go through. Don't lose faith. Definitely don't stop believing. Satan makes it seem like God isn't there and that He's not listening. When indeed, He stands with "arms and ears" wide open. Pray and wait upon the Lord, and He will renew your strength. Right now, you're experiencing what many go through when we're young. We are torn and confused for various reasons. Someone stated that God doesn't hear the prayers of the unsaved. I disagree. If He didn't hear them, know one would be blessed or received God's mercy ... mostly, He wouldn't hear the cries to receive salvation. However, keep praying, believeing, fasting, and worshipping in the end you will win. God won't let you go. God is here and He loves you.

God answers prayers as He sees fit.

For God to answer prayers, they first must be in accordance with what He wants as well. He wouldn't obviously answer a prayer like "I wish Satan would rule over the world."

Also, we have to take God's plan into consideration and realize that He is not going to answer every prayer the way we want Him to. For example, someone might wish that Osama bin Ladin would die a horrible death and he would. And someone else might pray that Osama would live a long and prosperous life, thus creating a very difficult problem considering the first prayer.

Prayers are a time of communcation with God. He sees and hears all things and wants to do what is best for us in this life and the next. Sometimes it is easy for us to be short-sighted and fail to see God's long-term plans for us.

If your faith is dependent upon specific prayers being answered, then I hate to say it, but I think you faith is weak at best. I wish it wasn't so, but that takes time and lots of encouragement. I would respectfully suggest that you start by studying the Gospel.

I am sorry to hear about your sufferings. Good things will happen to bad people in the world and vice-versa. Nobody ever promised that things in this world would be fair. But what happens in this life will be like an instant, a mist, a remote memory, a blink...when compared to the billions and billions and billions and billions of years we can spend with God in the bliss of eternity.

Oh, BIG QUESTION. I could take hours to tell this to you, and give you references, but I will try to sum it up:

THERE IS A GOD.

1) He always answers to those who listen, but not always yes.
2) Trials make you stronger and are necessary to test your faith sometimes.
3)Say you are a grasshopper and you come to a wall. You ask a boy to knock it down, but he says no. You continually ask him, but each time he says no. Finally, you hop around and see your friend, who would have been crushed, should the wall have been knocked down. The boy is God, he sees all. We are the grasshopper, we can see little. We may not know the reason until the end of days, but God has good reason for what he does.
4)God whispers, he will not shout. You must turn down the headphones that is your life, He may not speak louder.
5)I have been in your, position, except for the part about your father, and I got out, though it took a while. I also have a friend who is in your position who I am trying to help. Go to this website (www.teenhopeline.com) and talk to them because they can help you with hard times better than I can.

There are two kinds of answers here. There are the kind which offer you hope, try to explain why things are happening, how to trust God more, how to pray better, etc; and there are those like big bear's which offer no hope at all. Which do you prefer?

That's what it comes down to. Are you going to say, There's no God, there's no life, there's no soul, there's no meaning...? Are you going to say life means nothing...? So why not let other people run your life, or, worse, take your life...? Atheism sure sounds good, but it leads to meaninglessness and hopelessness. People need meaning and hope.

I'd like to offer you hope based on the Bible, but I'm not sure that you;re ready for it. I'm praying for you, and I'll be watching for more of your questions in the coming days. I hope that God shows you how He has been faithful and leads you back to trust in Him more than ever before.

He answers to all prayers, might not be exactly what you prayed for but he does answer. How do you pray? Do you pray believing he will take care of it for you or do you pray hoping he does.
There's a difference between faith and hope, personally I don't believe in hope.

Faith is believing with out having to see it.

Hope is faith mixed with doubt , example: you hope GOD hears you, but thinking ...It probably wont happen.

When you pray do it with feeling, imagine how it would feel that your prayers came true. It would certainly be a good feeling don't you think? well, when you pray imagine that feeling when you ask , make believe it has already begun to work for you and thank HIM at the end of your prayer---- but believe it. When things do happen don't forget to thank him then too. In your mind play only positive thoughts any negative thoughts come in and refuse them, tell yourself to think only good thoughts. Think of the outcome you want and every time you remember them thank GOD. All you have to do is believe blindly and don't worry about it anymore , leave it in GOD's hands, relax he's already working on it. All he wants is that you firmly believe he is there for you.
Please don't lose faith, please. I will pray for you, let's pray together and you'll see the change in your life. JUST BELIEVE !!!!

There is a god, and he love you very much. I understand your feeling of lost and confusion cuz I was like you. Look, it may not seem like god doesn't answer your prayers, but he has something better planed for you. It may seem like a hard time, but we all have hard times and that's apart of life. I had a suicidal faze but there's a stage in life were life is going to be hard. That's because god wants us to experience that. God loves us so much that he wants us to feel and experience everything life has to offer. Your life isn't going to get any better because you stooped believing. This feeling is scary, I know. You feel like no one is there and your lost and cold. Well, that's not true, because god is always there even if you have sinned and turned against him. God will answer your prayers eventually.

god bless you.

I think the catholic church is way off base so I'm not surprised about your childhood, and rejecting everything is not the answer either. Just take a Bible a read it for simply what it says and you will find purpose for life and peace with God. Its simple if you follow what God says, not man.
