Words like Christians and Jews and Jesus are false translations and misunderstandings and do not identify those who Allah meant to identify and are therefore misleading and confusing and go contrary to the claims of the Quran to be the Word of Allah and without error.
Abdullah Yusuf Ali may have been sincere but what he produced is more of the Bible than the Quran and judges by the Bible and Christian history when Allah calls Disbelievers those who judge by other than what Allah has revealed.
Yusuf Ali or the publisher has given us a Trinity and a Holy Spirit that is taken out of Christianity, just as is Jesus or Jews, and soul is used from nafs and another when ruh is soul, only to conform with Christian thinking.
Arab scholars need to come clean since all this unecessary misunderstanding that has come down from the crusades seem to be prolonging the terrorism and counter-terrorism.

the problem is,if anyone tries to produce an honest translation if ever there was or whether it would mean a rat's back side,he will be deemed a hypocrite by the main stream scholars or religious teachers. Maybe Iran may put a price on his head even same as the Satanic Verses author Salman Rusdie.
This is because if anyone can prove their holy book to be crap, then the religion will lose its hypnotic grip on their believers. It will then have the effect of the Da Vince code on the frail christian's myths and strength.

you are stating your own idea but without evidences can you clarify your question please. additionally, in order to reveal that there are contradiction or false translations you need to be well educated in mastering Arabic and the target language of translation...

the idea that some stories of previous prophets can be similar to the bible or the Torah of Jews is a plus and a confirmation to the authenticity of the book, you say that it says about Jesus the same what exist in the bible, but excuse me Sir you are wrong, the Quran do deny the fact that Jesus is God OR the son of God, it states that he was miraculously born without a father but not son of God...

you know what, why don´t you read a book written by a well known french doctor and christian scholar ( at the time of writing his valuable book) his name is Maurice Boucay and the book is titled : " The Torah, The Bible, The Quran and Science" all what he make is a scientific research posing all scientific dealing verses of the three Devinne books to the latest scientific discoveries today in different matters...

What does the Bible actually teach about hellfire? "Hell" is the common grave of mankind, so everyone who dies goes there to await resurrection on the last day.

(Acts 24:15) there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous

(John 11:24) Martha said to him [Jesus]: “I know he [my brother] will rise in the resurrection on the last day.”

Hell is NOT someplace/something we need to fear; there is no suffering in the grave.

(Ecclesiastes 9:5) For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all

(Ecclesiastes 9:10) there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in Sheol ["hell"]

(Ezekiel 18:4) The soul that is sinning—it itself will die.

The bible says that Hades ("hell") will be done away with:
(Revelation 20:14) And death and Hades were hurled into the lake of fire

Faithful, patient Job requested that he go to "hell":
(Job 14:13) O that in She´ol you would conceal me

Even Jesus was in "hell" for three days:
(Acts 2:27) you will not leave my soul in Hades ["hell"]
