I need a vehicle to bring my son to school and he suggested this, so we looked at one, test drove it and liked it. I will probably go back tommorow, but I am wondering why my boy chose this one?

It's funny that you asked this question considering one of your other questions was about "show off soccer moms and their expensive suv's". Sounds like you are envious.

they look really nice, most people around the south put really cool rims on them that spin, but....... i am a thrifty person, and would never pollute the earth with a gas guzzler and I can find a lot more to spend my money on than an Escalade. like children in need, or even investments. i would not be able to drive around in such an expensive car and not feel guilty. i drive a toyota camry but...........i think the Escalade is a beautiful vehicle, i do feel envious at times, everybody does. go ahead and buy one if that makes you happy.:)

the escalade is one of the hottest SUV's on the market right now. don't know where you live but just when you drive around you might start to see them everywhere (almost) the escalade is kinda like the chrysler 300 everyone is buying them everyone from the guy who hangs out on the street to attorneys. the escalade just has a big range of buyers

Your son suggested the car? Is he paying for it?!
Anyhow, Consumer Reports is an excellent tool for car shopping research. You can view reports online or you can get them free from your local library.
There is more involved in research than gas prices. Consider reliabilty, areas that often need repairs, hardware integrity, and personal experiences.
That's a big purchase~consider it carefully. They make hybrids now on muliple SUV's.

It is a great vechile and very safe. My wifes friend drives one,
now are you sure gas price is not an issue, you need your own well for this one,

But if gas was not an issue ( or the price of the vechile) I would own one

New, yes. But according to Consumer Reports, they are not the best vehicle to buy used. Actually, they are one of the worst.
