it is OK. I would think he would be relieved and flattered not embarrassed. I think it would boost his confidence that he was asked out and make him less shy towards you.

NO NO NO NOT AT ALL...
HE IS SHY AS DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO AROUND GIRLS OR HOW TO GET SOMEONE HE LIKES.
IF HE LIKES YOU HE WOULD WANT YOU TO PULL HIM MORE THEN ANYTHING.
Thats if he does fancy you... if its you he goes all shy around go for it...
Just don't do it when others are around. Let him know you dont bite or wont hate him if he were to kiss you. and that if he is not perfect it would be fun to give him lessons...
Once he realises you like him and that once mistake wont make you hate him he should relax a bit and be who he is capable of and poss make up for lost time.
Never think its bad for girls to ask out guys or make the first moove. Most guys love it or loose out so much as don't know what to do.
Plus a girl who wants you is much sexier

Course its ok!
He'll probably be relieved he didnt have to work up the nerve to ask you out but please make sure you do it somewhere quiet not in front of everybody as this might embarrass him into saying no when he really wants to!
God damn shy blokes! I hate askin blokes out i make my guys do all the runnin hehe

Yes it's ok. It might embarrass him because he's shy but don't nurture it. Help him come out of his shell. I'm sure he'd have fun.
