You bet it is !!! We live in a 3 story Townhouse and it's great excersise to run up and down the stairs. Vacuuming too!! Just remember to use full range of motion actions with your body and instead of stooping to pick up the clothes, squat and use your leg muscles (better for your back anyway). Just remember also if you are carrying a heavy basket of clothes, don't twist at the waist when you turn as this puts undue stress on your lower back. Turn with your feet, and lift with your legs, not your back !!!!!!
Lift 1,2 Fold, 3,4 etc etc....Have fun!!!!!!

Stairs are great! This is what we call a "healthy lifestyle" going up stairs, walking further to the store from the parking lot, doing yard work in the yard, being active, moving around.
To be fit is different in some ways. To be effective for cardio, the stairs would need to be climbed for a minimum of 20 minutes, to get your heart rate up and keep it there, and how huh! Of course you would have to work up to it, as your heart couldn't take it all at once. To be fit, we have to push ourselves to get stronger. Hope this isn't depressing! Good for you for being active and doing your laundry downstairs! lol

It sure is! Stairs is the second best aerobic exercise there is. Add a basket of laundry, you are also doing strength training.

drugs is in no way the way! Take some self protection instructions and learn how to hold some variety of risk-free practices. If no longer the rest, I often times place my keys between each finger so as that it appears that evidently like Freddy Kruger palms. some jabs to the face or groin promises you a hazard to run away!

Certainly it is excercise. You probably need more than just that though.
